“May we someday find men who love us as much as we love each other.”
Another super sexy, super fun Pippa Grant hockey romance. This time it’s Nick’s turn to get his HEA and his heroine, Kami, is his sister’s best friend.
I really liked this couple! Their relationship starts off page sometime in the last few books. So when the book opens Kami and Nick have already started sleeping together on a friends with benefits basis. Or rather, Nick thinks it’s friends with benefits, but Kami, who has always had a thing for her bff’s brother, hopes it will develop into something more. As you can imagine, it doesn’t take too long before Kami is tired of Nick’s casual approach to their relationship.
Which is exactly when Nick realizes that Kami means more to him than he ever realized. What follows is exactly what you expect from a Pippa Grant romantic comedy. Escape rooms, apology gifts, glitter bombs with sparkly penis’s, a cow-dog, Halloween parties where Zeus may or may not dress up like a clown and scare the bejesus out of a couple of spiders, and just maybe a few super sexy ‘I’ve missed you’ love scenes.
This book was exactly what I needed. Lots of laughs, lots of heart, great friendships, and a lovely relationship between the H/H. I’m already looking forward to this author’s next release. Final Grade- B+

“You chose this, Tori. Choice is more powerful then fate.”
I’ve really enjoyed this series so far!
If you aren’t familiar with this series, Tori is an average, human woman who mistakenly walks into a bar one day while out looking for a job and somehow finds herself working for a guild full of magical beings. A world she never even knew existed. Over the last two books she has found her footing and formed a close friendship with three mages. Aaron is a pyromage from a powerful family, Ezra is an aeromage who remains an enigma, and Kai is an electramage who is a playboy who doesn’t really talk about his family or past.
Tori seems to attract men like flies. In the last book we were also introduced to the Ghost aka the Crystal Druid aka Zak. Who I was hoping would make another appearance and who is an integral part of saving of Tori in book three. I think my romance loving heart looks for potential love interests even while reading other genres. So when an author teases me with FOUR, and they are all powerful and good looking and turn the heroine’s head, I get a little squinty. Although, I think maybe after this book, one or two are out of the running. But still, have mercy.
This book did a lot to move Tori’s overall series arc along. She discovers some things about herself and makes a new friend. She solidifies her place within the Guild and shouldn’t have to constantly worry about being the odd man out. We also find out a little more about Kai’s family and history and Ezra’s mysterious abilities. I’m really looking forward to discovering more about them in the future. Things are changing for Zak, and I have a feeling we will see a lot more of him in the future.
Overall, this was another great read in this series and I’m looking forward to the next release in April. Final Grade- B

I have been reading the guild codex series and have the same squinty-eyed reaction – why is it that all of these good looking men are young, single and interested in the main character? I was happy to see one door mostly close there with this installment. I just can’t figure out if I’m team Zak or team Ezra.
Angela says
I can’t either! LOL. I like them both so much I wouldn’t be disappointed if she ended up with either one. Or both. Or I don’t know.

I just finished Dark Arts and a Daiquiri, so Two Witches is at the top of my wishlist right now. I’m really enjoying the Guild Codex series. I read the author’s short story, A Damsel and A Demigod, in the Love Potions anthology so I figured Kai was out of the running, but I’m eager to see what happens with the other guys, especially Zak.
I also just bought Charming As Puck, so it looks like I’ve got some good reading ahead of me.
