EARTH, YEAR 2324
Melody Simmons desperately needs to fill her bank accounts with credits that could help her family climb out of near poverty. And in the Virgin Hunt Games, that means enticing as many hunters as possible to bed her. The downside? Billions of viewers from all parts of the galaxy would be watching her fall from virtue with avid interest.
Alien Damon Banscott despises everything about the Virgin Hunt Games. Except the fact he can now legally destroy his enemy in the games. He is in this only for revenge. Then Damon sees one of the beautiful hunted and, for a moment, his heart stops beating. He’ll fight to the death before allowing another hunter to touch and deflower Melody.
But while the hunters get more credits by pleasing their captive mate sexually, the hunted women received more by finding their pleasure with any of the hunters who weren’t their assigned mate.
The hunt is on…
I’ve been on a romantic- erotic sci/fi binge of sorts lately. So when the opportunity to review this came my way I jumped on it. This is a new to me author, even though she seems to have an extensive backlist.
The set up for this Defective is a reality TV based competition named the Virgins Hunt Games, where Hunters are paired with women called the Hunted and the objective is sex. The kinkier the better. Hunters win by finding their mates and pleasing them to the fullest. Hunteds win by having sex with as many Hunters as possible (especially catching Hunters before they deflower their mates) and having many, may orgasms.
This was a fast paced, super sexy space romp. As weird as it sounds it felt like Hunger Games: Science Fiction Sex Addition. These games aren’t just a bunch of people running around humping, they are also fighting each other and the life threatening obstacles the show developers keep throwing their way.
The hero, Damon, is there to get revenge on another Hunter and the heroine, Melody, is competing to fill her families coffers. They just happen to have an instant attraction that only intensifies the longer they stay together. Yes, there is a lot of insta lust and love, but I did enjoy this couple and the sexiness of the story. I would like to see some of the secondary characters get their own HEAs.
Overall, this was a fun, sexy read. Not too much depth, but easy to fall into for a few hours. Final Grade- C+

During negotiations for a truce between the feuding Price and Morgan families, Lord John Morgan makes a shocking offer: he will give the Price family their land, in exchange for Harrison Price’s hand in marriage.
John has long been enamored with Harrison, the beautiful son of his late rival. Harrison is nineteen, inexperienced, and known for being cold and bitingly brilliant. The union seems impossible, but John is determined to win the affections of his young obsession.
Will the frigid Harrison concede, or will the object of John’s adoration leave him alone at the altar?
I was so intrigued when I read the blurb for this book. When I finally sat down with my Kindle to read I was a little surprised to discover that it is only a short story. Very short story, only about 35 pages. As you can imagine that isn’t much page time for our romantic couple to fall in love, unless there is some instalove involved. Which there is.
I did enjoy John and Harrison’s story, although I would have loved a longer visit getting to know them. There is some steam, some fluff, and a few really sweet romantic declarations. All in all, not a bad way to spend 45 minutes reading. Final Grade- C+

Let me find out from the publisher if they pushed the release date back for some reason.
