Has from The Bookpushers rec’d this on Twitter and I am so glad I listened because holy smokes this book was good. Barbarian science fiction romance done exactly right. The hero is super alpha, but patient and protective. The heroine is strong, smart, and sensible. She fights her circumstances, but ultimately realizes she must compromise and acclimate into her new home.

The love scenes are hot, and what makes them even hotter is that consent is a big factor between the H/H. I also enjoyed seeing the blossoming of Luna’s sexuality and getting advice from her friends on how to seduce her barbarian husband.

I enjoyed pretty much everything about Captive of the Horde King… the worldbuilding, the characters, the lovely romance, just… everything. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is a much darker installment in this series. Tori and the guild are pulled into service when a demon appears in their city. While the first book started out as a fun, at times humorous PNR/UF, each subsequent book has broadened the worldbuilding and gotten progressively grittier and darker. Tori is a real, full fledged member of the guild and has been pulled into the supernatural world and all that entails. She’s held her own through out it all, but it’s changed her. In this book she must make some decisions that will affect not only her most important friendships, but maybe the rest of her life.

This is definitely Ezra’s book and readers finally learn some his backstory and find out why he, Aaron, and Kai are so worried about him getting angry or upset. I also could sense that he and Tori may have a blossoming romance on the horizon. Their sexual tension practically jumped off the page and I’m telling you I am here for it.

The only thing that could have made this book better was the appearance of Zak, who I miss and can’t wait to see again. Will there be a Zak/Tori/Ezra love triangle? Is this my romance loving heart coming out and seeing things that aren’t there? Who knows. Maybe we will find out in book five, which will be out I winter of 2019.

This was my favorite of the series so far and I’m looking forward to not only the next in the series, but the first book in the new spin-off series.

The first thing you should know about this book is that it’s bizarre. I think I was about 25% in before I even had an inkling of what was going on.

The second thing you should know is that it’s extremely violent and horrifying at times. And it doesn’t even start out gently, it just thrusts readers right into this world unapologetically.

But even through the weird and the violence I kept reading and damn, but this is such a great character driven story with so many plot twists I never saw coming. In fact, I don’t even know how to review this book without giving something away.

I will say that the ending wraps up nicely and I thoroughly enjoyed myself while reading. It’s on sale for $2.99 right now and I’m not sure how long that will last so I’m going to add the blurb below in case anyone is interested.
