Happy Happy, Hump Day! It has been a wild week and it’s only Wednesday! I’m holding on tight and praying I make it to the weekend in one piece! Even with all the chaos this first week of April is lobbing my way, I was able to semi-weather the storm by stealing some time to read the newest book in one of my fav MC Club romance series, The Wind Dragons! If you haven’t yet read Chantal Fernando’s (EPIC!) series, please bless yourself and check out book 1, Dragon’s Lair. It is sexy, funny, and just the right mix of danger that I appreciate in a good MC club series. The boys are bad, but none without redemption, and all with a whole lotta love! Today’s lovey/lusty combo is from the forthcoming, 10th book in the series, Fallen Princess and follows the next generation of Wind Dragon’s, beginning with the President’s daughter, Clover. Now…I usually never real like next gen kids in these kinds of series so I was a little bummed to see that was the direction in which the series was headed- but, I’m a Wind Dragon’s lifer and my gut said check it out and this is one of those times where I didn’t lead myself astray (next time, I’ll tell you about the times my gut was wrong AF, but not today!)
Growing up as the Princess of the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club, Clover Black knows she’s had a thoroughly unique upbringing. As the daughter of the former President of the club, she’s expected to live a certain kind of life but she does the unthinkable…she goes to the police academy and becomes a cop. Without her family knowing.
After being assigned a new partner, the handsome Felix Banks, a friendship blossoms, but as Felix teaches her how to be a better cop, she finds herself falling for him, all while, struggling to keep her two lives separate. Tensions rise when the truth comes out and it becomes clear that Clover is being used for her motorcycle club ties.
As things heat up within the MC and at Clover’s job, she faces a difficult choice—her love for Felix and the law, or her family and the Wind Dragon
If this isn’t love…
“I almost lost you today.” Glancing up at his lips, I raise my eyes back up to his, water dripping down both of our faces.“You aren’t going to lose me that easily, Felix.” He rests his forehead against mine.
“I don’t know what I would have done. I’ve only had you for such a short time; it would have been the cruelest punishment. I love you so much, Clover. You’re the one; I know it. I love you just as you are; I don’t want to change anything about you. I love how you’re just real and say it how it is, but at the same time, when I make you laugh, you get all giggly and girly and it’s fucking adorable. I love how I can make you roll your eyes then smile, and that smile. Fuck. You speak with your eyes. You would do anything for the people you love. When you’re working out with your headphones on you sing along to the songs and don’t give a shit who’s listening. . . .”
I smile at that one because it’s true, even if I’m at the gym.
“I love how sexy you are, how confident, how you just own everything about you—”
I kiss him, cutting off his speech. I tell him how I feel about him in this kiss; I guess that’s me: I’m better with actions than with saying things out loud. I pour my emotion, my love, my soul into this kiss. And when his fingers tighten around me, I know that he can feel it. He got the message, loud and clear. He understands me, even in my silence. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.
*Sigh*
“Are you sure?” he asks me, studying me. “We don’t have to do anything you don’t want to. I’m not in any rush, Clo. It’s all up to you.”“I know,” I reply, flashing my teeth. “And I want you. I’ve waited long enough, Felix.”
He removes the rest of my clothing first, followed by his own, and then lays back on top of me, making sure not to put all his weight on me.
“If you’re sure,” he whispers, a devilish glint in his eyes before he starts to kiss down my body, taking his time kissing and sucking on my neck, then my collarbone. By the time he reaches my breasts, my eyes are basically rolling in the back of my head, and my mouth has fallen open in pleasure. I stay still, lost in the moment, in him. Everything feels so right, and instead of being nervous, I’m excited and exhilarated and I want this to last forever. He gently sucks on my nipples, my toes curling and my spine slightly arching.
And then his mouth is on my pussy, and I see stars.
He makes me come, once, before putting on a condom and sliding inside of me, ever so slowly, too much so, so I lift my hips upward, greedy for more of him. He makes it as painless for me as possible, which is kind of a feat considering the size of him. And just like that, I’m his and he’s mine, and there’s no going back. I wouldn’t want to…
“I don’t want to hurt you,” he says, and I can see he’s restraining himself by the tightness in his jaw.
“You’re not,” I tell him. “I’m not going to break. Show me what I’ve been missing out on.”
Fallen Princess is a fresh direction for the Wind Dragons, I was able to connect with Clover in a way that surprised me, so often the ids in these series are eclipsed by their larger than life and beloved parental original characters, and yet, Fernando did such an amazing job giving Clover the distance needed to become her own character and not just Faye & Dex’s HEA kid.
Fallen Princess is available for pre-order now and releases April 8th!
