Smexy’s May TBR

May 3, 2019 by Angela 1 Comment

Angela: Last month I only had a couple of ARCs for review, so I caught up on my TBR stack. This month I am overloaded with books to read on my review list, but they all sound fantastic.

Storm Cursed (Mercy Thompson #11) by Patricia Briggs 5/7– I actually just finished this one and it was another great addition to the series. Review to come.

The Bride Test ( The Kiss Quotient #2) by Helen Hoang 5/7– I LOVED The Kiss Quotient. I’ve got The Bride Test up next in my reading queue so I’ll report back as soon as possible. Review to come.

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren 5/14- This author duo is on my auto-buy list. The blurb makes this one sound like a fun romantic comedy with some tried and true tropes: forced proximity, enemies to lovers, fake relationship. Super excited. Review to come.

Red, White, & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston 5/14– I’ve had my eye on this title since I saw the cutesy cover and read the blurb. The minute the ARC came available I hit the request button. A secret romance between America’s First Son and the Prince of Wales? Yes, please. Review to come.

Rebel (Women Who Dare #1) by Beverly Jenkins 5/28– The first book in a new series from Ms. Bev. Rebel is set in New Orleans during Reconstruction and tells the love story of a Northern woman who has come to Louisiana be a teacher and the man who helps her navigate the dangerous south. Review to come.

The Rogue of Fifth Avenue (Uptown Girls #1) by Joanna Shupe 5/28- I love this author’s Gilded Age romances set in New York City. So much so that she has quickly become of my few historical romance auto-buy authors. The hero, Frank Tripp, first appears in her Four Hundred series and I can’t wait to see him all in love. Review to come.

Kini: As much as I want to pare down my TBR mountain, I seem to add more books than I read. I didn’t read enough of my big releases for April but that isn’t going to stop me from adding this May releases.

The Key To Happily Ever After by Tif Marcelo 5/14– I am friendly with Tif and she is absolutely lovely. I am excited to read her most recently release that features sisters taking over a wedding planing business. And the cover is cute as heck!

Just Past Two by Elia Winters 5/20– Winters writes some of the sexiest books and they frequently involve sex toys and/or mutual masturbation, in case that is something you like to see in your romance novels.

Rebel by Beverly Jenkins 5/28– Straight from the book blurb “new series follows a Northern woman south in the chaotic aftermath of the Civil War…” I don’t read a ton of historicals but I interested to see what Jenkins does with the Civil War setting.

Teach Me by Olivia Dade 5/30– I am cheating a little bit with this one because I have already read it. Fat heroine with excellent and kind fat rep. Cinnamon roll hero. Both main characters are over 40. Please do yourself a favor and go ahead and pre-order this. You’ll thank me later.

I have two other overlaps from Angela, The Unhoneymooners well because when CLo puts out a book, I’m going to read it. I also have Red, White, & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston on my TBR. I love a good book about royalty.

What books are you really looking forward to this month?

I’m looking forward to that new Patricia Briggs book. I’m also going to read the Thea Harrison book that was recently published.
