Graveyard Shift by Jenn Burke
Not Dead Yet #3
M/M Paranormal Romance

This is such a great series, I really do love everything about it. The third book in the Not Dead Yet series, Graveyard Shift, is just as fabulous as the previous two and a wonderful way to end the series.

Wes and Hudson have been through some shit in the previous two installments and are now in a loving, happy place. They have finally settled in a home together in the suburbs, business is good at their detective agency, and their found family is getting along rather well. That is until a seemingly low key theft case ends in the death of their suspect and shifters in the surrounding area begin to overdose on a new drug. Add in the sudden appearance of Hudson’s niece and all hell is about to break loose.

This book had it all: action, emotion, passion, loss, love, friendship. Wes and Hudson are wonderful together and I’ve enjoyed watching them evolve, both individually and as a couple. They are surrounded by an amazing cast of secondary characters, all are beautifully flawed and skillfully crafted. I will honestly say I wasn’t prepared for some of the ways their character arcs changed in this book. I’m trying not to spoil, but be prepared for some sadness and loss.

The worldbuilding is superb, each book builds on the last and it’s almost a shame that this series has to end. I keep thinking that it would surely only get better and better. I’m kind of hoping for some updates in the future or maybe some kind of spin-off.

Fans of this series will be satisfied. Fans of the genre should absolutely add this series to their TBR list. I would definitely read in order as there is an overall story arc. This is a very satisfying ending to a series that I have truly enjoyed. I will miss these characters.

Final grade- B+
