9. One of my best friends stumbled upon the IG account of the hairyfarmpitgirls , decided to try their fancy goat milk soap and then fell in love. She then bought me some fancy lavender goat milk soap and I fell in love. Y’all, this stuff is amazing. I’m trying the sweet tea lotion next.

She’s allergic to emotions, he’s a grumpy romance reader. They have a fake relationship, a trending hashtag, and a very sexy deal that’s about to go pear-shaped 🥳

6. I started following Best of Nextdoor on twitter and I swear it cracks me up on a daily basis. I knew my local Nextdoor was bananas, but now I realize it’s everyone’s Nextdoor.

4. Netflix released their newest trailer for The Witcher and I CANNOT WAIT. I haven’t read the books, but I plan on reading at least the first, The Last Wish, before release date. (Also, Henry Cavill is a beautiful, beautiful man.)
This story has the makings of our greatest ballad yet.

2. Goodreads opened voting for their Goodreads Choice Awards and I’m not a big fan of the choices in the Romance category. Have y’all checked out the books already nominated? What do you think?
1. Taking it easy this weekend! The new Milla Vane (Meljean Brook) Heart of Blood and Ashes hit my Kindle and even though I have a ton of other books to read, and this doesn’t release until February, I can’t hold myself back any longer. I can’t wait to finally dive in!
Have a wonderful weekend!

ANGELA! Best of Nextdoor is a gem on Twitter. They post some wild $hit from the app. It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people can be. I had to turn the notifications off for my Nextdoor app because the folks in my neighborhood post if the wind blows the wrong way.
Angela says
The other day a woman I’ve known for years posted thanking her neighbor for calling the cops on her for a noise violation when they threw a birthday party and I about DIED. LOL. The comments were A+.
Laurel says
I read about 150 books a year, not all romance but most are, and I have only read 1 of the books GoodReads has nominated in the romance category for best book of the year. It really makes me wonder how they come up with the nominations.
Angela says
I never think the nominations are representative of the best for the year, in every category, but this year is especially bad.
Mandi says
My husband has listened to all the Witcher books and looooved them! We are excited!
DiscoDollyDeb says
Re GoodReads nominations: I’ve long since given up expecting any of my favorite romances to be on any “Best of the Year” list. I tend to go for dark and angsty (well, not always dark, but always angsty) and “Best of” lists tend to focus on the humorous (which never seems funny to me) or the melodramatic (so much drama, so little emotionally-mature response) or the bandwagon (“Everyone else is raving about how good this book is, so I should too!”). I guess I’ll just continue to be a grumpy Gertrude and read my Kati Wilde, Caitlin Crews, Julie Kriss, Kate Canterbary, Molly O’Keefe, Natasha Knight, Kelly Hunter (all of whom published new, very good, books this year) and not expect to see them on any “Best of the Year” lists save my own.
/End rant; dismount soapbox.
