Whoa, I didn’t read nearly as much as I anticipated this year. I read my staple releases, and came across a few new authors and that was kind of…it. I actually did more RE-reading than anything! Maybe 2019 was just meant to be the year of nostalgia for me. Topping my re-read list? Waking the Dragon, Vale of Stars #1 by Juliette Lewis. It is quite possibly my favorite book to read these days! Liar’s Game by Eric Jerome Dickey was also a repeat read and is one of my fav if not thee– fav all time contemporary romance novel. Love, Betrayal, Forgiveness, Friendship, Loyalty- ugh. It’s a masterpiece!
Even though 2019 was a down year for me as far as consumption- on the whole, what I did consume, I really enjoyed! However, I remain truly shocked at the lack of historical romance presence on my list this year- Historical romance is like- my thing! I’ve got to reconnect with my beloved historicals in 2020!
Nevertheless! These books got me through 2019 and have me hopeful for 2020!
Favorites I can read over, and over and over… And did in 2019!
Favorite PNR/UF/Sci-Fi
Favorite Contemporary Romance
Favorite Author to Read in 2019…
Not to be confused with overall favorite author- don’t make me pick! I don’t wanna and you can’t make me! But this author definitely deserves her own section because she is soooo damn consistent and fan interactive and she delivers each and every time. She releases a full length book in one of her series every month. Monthly! And the quality is never lacking, the stories never feel recycled and the overall worlds never come across as stunted or stale. How she does it, I have no idea (none!) but I am damn sure glad she does. If nothing else, each month I knew I’d have a Ruby Dixon novel to read and finished it feeling sated and happy each and every time!
Here’s to an even bigger and better year in romance reading in 2020!

I love DIRTY (which also has one of the hottest covers ever, imho)—but new readers should be forewarned, it’s the first book in a trilogy and ends on a massive cliffhanger.

I was looking for the books you mention, because it’s quite a good handful of books. They sound interesting. I was a little bit intrigued by ‘Waking the Dragon. But I found out that it was written by Juliette Cross, not Lewis. Is there anything I’m missing?
