Kris Ripper has such a unique voice so I was looking forward to this book and wasn’t disappointed at all. The Love Study is filled with awkwardness and I’m such a sucker for that in romance. This book explores so much about what does a romantic relationship *need* to look like to actually still be a romance?
I loved so much how Declan and Sidney begin the story trying to find someone for Dec to date and have this journey of figuring out what each of them actually needs in a relationship. I highly rec this to anyone looking for an untraditional romance that’s still a romance.

The Tenant by Katrina Jackson

I’m biased towards Katrina Jackson because I read everything she publishes but this was a delightful mix of contemporary and historical PNR. I mean there’s ghost sex AND a ghost threesome of sorts? This a short-ish book that isn’t exactly a traditional romance, more of a ghost story with a romance sub-plot but it still completely worked for me.
Noel inherits a house from his great-aunt and figures why not go for it since he has nothing else going on in his life. Ruby, the ghost, is so fully fleshed as a character that I had to remind myself that she was a ghost. This was a fun book – despite the haunting and violent background to Ruby – and I love that Jackson is exploring different facets of writing and I’ll follow her wherever she goes.
