From acclaimed author A.M. Arthur comes a tender, sexy new novel in the Woods Ranch series.
He thought his cowboy days were behind him. But life—and love—had other plans.
Michael Pearce left the small-town life of Weston and cattle ranching for the hustle of Austin, and never looked back—until his father suffers a stroke and requires in-home care.

He wants to help people, and he does his best with the work he can find in small-town Weston, Texas. He also lives a complicated life with his lover—to the rest of the world, they’re just roommates. Behind closed doors, their life is…strained.
Meeting Michael, a kind and openly gay—not to mention much older—man, gives Josiah a glimpse into a brighter, happier world. He loves Michael’s self-confidence and plethora of life stories. But it will take patience, planning, and more courage than Josiah thinks he has to finally break free from his old life and find real love with Michael.

The hottest player on the Moo U hockey team hangs a flyer on the bulletin board, and I am spellbound:
Rent a boyfriend for the holiday. For $25, I will be your Thanksgiving date. I will talk hockey with your dad. I will bring your mother flowers. I will be polite, and wear a nicely ironed shirt…
Now everyone knows it’s a bad idea to introduce your long-time crush to your messed-up family. But I really do need a date for Thanksgiving, even if I’m not willing to say why. So I tear his phone number off of that flyer… and accidentally entangle our star defenseman in a ruse that neither of us can easily unwind.
Because Weston’s family is even nuttier than mine. He needs a date, too, for the most uncomfortable holiday engagement party ever thrown.
There will be hors d’oeuvre. There will be faked PDA. And there will be pro-level awkwardness…

She thinks he’s a footman. He’s really an earl. Hijinks ensue.
Let the games begin . . .
Every fortune-hunting female in London is after the newly titled Earl of Kendall, but he’s intent on finding a wife whose heart is true. So, while drunkenly jesting with his friends in a pub one night, he has an idea—what if the ladies of the ton didn’t know he was a wealthy earl? All he has to do is pose as a servant at his friend’s summer country house party and make sure the guest list is full of beautiful, eligible debutantes. What could possibly go wrong?
May the best footman win.
Miss Frances Wharton is far more interested in fighting for the rights of the poor than in marriage, but her mother insists she attend a summer house party—and find herself a husband. Frances would rather wed a goat than the pompous man her mother has in mind, so in order to dissuade the would-be suitor, she vows to behave like a shrew. The only person she can be herself with is the kind, handsome footman she runs into at every turn. Their connection is undeniable, and the divide between them is no match for the passion they feel. But what will happen when Frances learns that the footman she adores is actually the earl she despises? In a game where everything is false, can they convince each other that their love is true?

Boyfriend is a very good book. Sarina Bowen is an auto-buy author for me, and this is one of her better books.
@Laurel, if you’d care to share, what other Sarina Bowen books do you recommend? My favorites are The Year We Fell Down and Blonde Date (the last is a novella).
I LOVE The Year We Fell Down.
Have you read Blonde Date, @Angela? It was short but good.
I also like The Year We Fell Down and Blonde Date. My other recommendations would be Speakesy, Bountiful, and Keepsake. I also really enjoyed a lot of her hockey books from the Brooklyn Bruisers series.
Thank you, @Laurel! I’ve downloaded a sample of Speakeasy.
@Angela: A question for you. WordPress used to allow me to follow a single post (such as this one) to monitor for replies. Now I need to follow the whole site which I do not wish to do (since I drop by every day or two). Are you able to reinstate the previous function?
Let me figure out which setting changed and I’ll fix it.
