Review by Angela

I will admit to having a little bit of dread after reading the first chapter of this book. I had really been looking forward to this marriage in trouble, second chance romance which also happened to be the finale of The Kissing Games multi-author series, then I realized what the issue was between the couple and why they were breaking up.

I don’t think I’m spoiling too much by telling you here since the announcement comes at the very beginning of the book, but I’ll put it under a spoiler tag anyway.

Spoiler- Why do Jasper and Lorelie break up?

When they got together neither wanted kids due to their shitty childhoods and abusive parents. But after holding a friend’s newborn, Lorelie has decided she DOES want to be a mother, but Jasper still maintains that he will never be a parent. Which leads to their separation.

I read this book straight through after I opened it on my Kindle. After the realization of why this marriage was in trouble, I HAD to know how this author would resolve this issue and bring them back together. I also kept thinking I was heading for a trainwreck after they kept sleeping together and was wondering if there would be any “surprises”. But I was relieved when the journey to this couple’s reunion became more focused on joint therapy and resolving the things in their past that were holding them back. Very, very relieved.

This is most definitely the hottest book in the series, with quite a few open-door love scenes. I kind of skimmed through the last couple to get to the end. I enjoy a good love scene, but in this 173-page book and they became a little redundant. Suffice it to say this couple is really, really attracted to each other.

There are glimpses of past couples and an epilogue that was quite lovely, catching up with the main couple as well as seeing all the series characters in the future. It was a very nicely done ending to an enjoyable series.

Grade- C+
