A match made in hell?
Devon and Tanner fight like… well, cats and dogs. Which makes sense since hellcats and hellhounds aren’t exactly a match made in heaven. Unfortunately, their demons’ antipathy towards each other is matched only by the red-hot sexual tension between Tanner and Devon. It’s driving them – and their long-suffering friends Harper and Knox – mad.
When Devon is nearly kidnapped, Tanner’s protective instincts kick into overdrive – he’s sticking by her side, day and night. But staying so close means their hunger can no longer be denied . . . They know their demons won’t accept the match, but after one red-hot night they’ll fight to stay together as long as they can, even though shadows are gathering around them. Devon’s would-be kidnapper is still on the loose, a serial killer carrying rage from a twisted past threatens the lair and, most of all, Tanner and Devon are losing themselves to the heat between them. When this relationship goes up in flames, it could be a blaze that neither of them can walk away from . . .

I haven’t read Shanna in a *very* long time, but 15 year old me loved it when it originally came out. I think this one may be more acceptable to a modern reader than some other of Woodiwiss’s books (say The Flame and the Flower or The Wolf and the Dove), but be warned, this is old skool romance with old skool attitudes towards the hero and heroine.
As an aside, I remember buying the extra expensive large format paperback of this book because I loved Woodiwiss so much. I think I stayed up too late reading it and finished it very quickly, only to turn around and read it again.

I’m sure I’ve read this- my teenage old skool reading binges were epic- but I do not remember anything about it. Lol

@Laurel, I’m another who read Shanna when it was new. You clearly have a better memory of the details than I do though!

COWBOY, TAKE ME HOME is very good—as is the entire Cowboy Homecoming series. I think Genevieve Turner ranks right up there with Maisey Yates in writing excellent contemporary cowboy romances. Highly recommended.
