The Countess Conspiracy by Courtney Milan
The Brothers Sinister #3
Historical Romance
December 17, 2013- Self Published
There are many, many reasons why I absolutely loved the latest in Courtney Milan’s Brothers Sinister series. So many.
The hero, Sebastian, is funny and sweet and a fantastically wonderful man who has been in love with the heroine, Violet, all his life. He’s not afraid to tell the woman he loves how much he adores her. Any why.
“That’s one of the reasons I love you, Violet. You see so many surprising things and you think they’re obvious. And you’re right about them too.”
Violet is smart, genius smart. But she’s also kind, and loyal. Sebastian is the only person in the world who has ever really understood her. There is so much trauma in her past that causes her to appear cold, aloof and not capable of romantic love, but he sees through it all to the real woman underneath. So he slowly seduces her. With words, and trust, and an undying, unbreakable friendship.
“Clever Violet,” Sebastian said “Lovely Violet. Sweet Violet. The best Violet in the entire world.” He slid his hands up her thighs and she gasped. “Beloved Violet,” he said softly. “What are you thinking about?”
“You,” she said. “And me.”
This was simply one of the most romantic love stories I’ve read in quite a while. I was struck by this couple’s connection to each other. I wasn’t just enamored of the hero, or the heroine, (although, I did like them both) but by their relationship and the level of trust and respect they had for each other. This isn’t one of those romances where in the end you wonder what the main characters saw in the each other or have thoughts that their relationship is based on sex. No, this couple will endear themselves to you and you will completely believe in their happily ever after.
