I loved this book. Hard. I loved this book so, so hard. I loved it so much as soon as I finished reading I wanted to go back and reread all those quotes I’d highlighted. Or maybe start over from the beginning and read while listening to the playlist as Libby and Killian sing and strum the guitar. Maybe even enough to name the stars at the beginning of my review. 5 He lost the music, but she brought it back stars! 5 He puked on her, she hosed him, and then they fell in love stars! 5 Get your one-click fingers ready stars! 5… yeah, I suck at this.
Anyway, I was just thinking the other day about opening scenes of books and how important they are to me. A great one will grab my attention and keep me reading. Libby dousing a drunk, passed out, covered in vomit Killian with a water hose was one I will remember for a while. You see Killian is a rock star who has lost his passion for music. Since walking in and finding his band mate and best friend in the middle of a suicide attempt he has hidden away from everything. He ends up passed out drunk, after wrecking his motorcycle, on the lawn of a very pissed off Liberty Bell. Don’t worry, the discord between them doesn’t last long, Libby starts off angry and annoyed, but she’s really just lonely and still getting over the deaths of her parents. Before long they are connecting on a fundamental level and really getting to know each other. Music is how they communicate and Killian finds a renewed passion as he and Libby sing and compose together.
The romance is off the charts as this couple have to navigate not only their feelings for each other, but fandom and the press and all the things that come with being one of the biggest bands on the planet. This book is sexy, yet also passionately romantic. Killian is a wonderful hero who is a protective and dedicated lover from almost the moment he and Liberty first have a civil conversation. He never strays or acts tough or any of the things that turn me off. Libby becomes his inspiration and the reason he can focus on his music again. Liberty has fears, and starts off a bit insecure, yet she remains true to herself through out everything. I loved her wit and strong-willed personality. Yes, this couple make some stupid decisions, but the depth of their love shines through on every single page.
I think this is one of the best rock star romances I’ve ever read. Literally everything about this book worked for me. The band, the music, the romance… everything. Highly recommend.

It’s always this way. He looks at me, I fall. I have an awful feeling it will be this way my entire life. Killian James wakes me up, makes me whole.
