The Pirate's Secret Baby by Darlene Marshall Released: March 2, 2014 Historical Romance Amber Quill Press Reviewed by Mandi I've enjoyed Darlene Marshall's books in the past and she does a nice job with The Pirate's Secret Baby. The baby is actually eight year old Mattie, whose mother has recently died. Her governess, Lydia tracks down Mattie's father, Robert St. Armand, the captain of the Prodigal Son and known pirate. Robert has been with many (and I mean many) women, so it's a shock Continue Reading
Audiobook Recommendations
I go through phases of obsessively listening to audio books and then forgetting them for awhile. Right now I'm in the obsessive listening phase. When I run errands, clean the house, fold laundry - I have my ear buds in with a book on. I'm currently listening to Feral Sins by Suzanne Wright and this book is FUN. I really enjoy the narrator too (who can make or break an audio book). Also let me note that I'm listening to the rereleased version as the first version of this book has an odd scene Continue Reading

Smex Scene Sunday
Heroes: Ace and Cruz. Both a bit tortured. Both in love with Rachel. Both do dirty things together without Rachel. Heroine: Rachel. Longing to belong and to show everyone she is not all sweet and innocent. Ace and Cruz can definitely help with this. Cruz caught her face between his hands and held her there. "You're a brat with Ace, but you're so sweet and good for me, aren't you?" "Always," she breathed. "I love the way you look at me, especially when you stop fighting Continue Reading

Review: His Abductor’s Desire by Harper St. George
His Abductor's Desire by Harper St. George Released: March 1, 2014 Western Historical Harlequin Reviewed by Mandi I accepted this review request because this is a debut author and the premise of an "heiress-turned-outlaw" really appealed to me. While I liked the heroine and I think this author has a good writing style, this book suffers from lack of pages. It's way too short for the reader to become invested in what could have been a really fun story. Charity is an heiress from Continue Reading
Review: Night Broken by Patricia Briggs
Night Broken (Mercy Thompson #8) Released: March 11, 2014 Urban Fantasy Ace Reviewed by Mandi I truly love this series but it hasn't been perfect for me. I think the characters and the world are pretty great, but sometimes I'm just darn bored and that kind of happened in this book. Maybe bored isn't the right word but I felt like this book was a filler for two reasons - Adam's ex-wife and the villain. They both seemed to have no purpose unless I'm missing something big and if I am Continue Reading
