Lord of Darkness by Elizabeth HoytMaiden Lane #5Historical RomanceOriginally published February 26, 2013 I’m not afraid to admit that this book wrecked me. I absolutely loved it, but my heart hurt for this couple so many times. Lord of Darkness is the fifth book in Elizabeth Hoyt’s much beloved Maiden Lane series and it was so very, very good. Wrapping Up 2024- Angela’s Favorites
Some quick stats- I've read 142 books as of this post. A whopping 66 of those books were published in KU. Every time I found myself in a book slump I browsed through KU and chose a fantasy or science fiction romance. I found LJ Andrews, and her Ever series. Which is when I realized that it was a spin-off of the Broken Kingdom series. So, I gobbled up all 12 books over a month or so. I LOVE this world so much. I read more fantasy romance, science fiction romance, and horror this year than Continue Reading

Ne'er Duke Well by Alexandra VastiHistorical RomanceJuly 24, 2024- St. Martin's Griffin Review by Angela I fell in love with this author after reading the Halifax Hellions series as free reads on her website. I've been saving this book as kind of a "break glass in case of emergency" read, which after the last couple of months and my resulting book slump seemed to be a good plan from past me. Peter Kent, the new Duke of Stanhope, recently arrived from Louisiana, desperately wants Continue Reading

Ghost Station by S.A. BarnesScience Fiction/HorrorApril 9, 2024- Tor NightfireARC Review by Angela I'm not sure why I waited so long to read this book, maybe when I first picked it up I wasn't in the mood for dark, atmospheric, grim science fiction? Not quite sure. I do know that once I finally opened it for a second time the other day, I read it straight through to the end in one sitting. Ghost Station is told from the POV of Dr. Ophelia Bray, a psychologist with a complicated Continue Reading
