My ARC reading has not been great recently, but I have managed to read a few things. Some were ARCs, some were purchases, and some re-reads. ARCS: The Write Escape by Charish Reid- This was a decent read. The heroine breaks up with her fiance and then goes off on an adventure in Ireland. The hero is a professor who is stuck in his ways. They meet and chemistry is there and they end up being neighbors. Sexy times happen. It’s dual POV so we get insight to each of these slightly broken Continue Reading

Kini’s Friday Kisses – White Whiskey Bargain by Jodie Slaughter, Don’t You Forget About Me by Mhairi McFarlane, and Lady Luck by Kristen Ashley
I’ve had a slow reading week, my co-worker has been on PTO so I’ve been so busy at work and too tired to read. But it’s Friday so I can read these weekend! Here’s some notes on books I have read recently. White Whiskey Bargain by Jodie Slaughter- Here is a quick overview of this book: Black heroine, Mexican American hero, marriage of convenience, SOFT hero who is in his feelings, mutual masturbation scene, one bed at the hotel. This book is incredibly sexy, there is an oral sex scene that Continue Reading
Kini’s Friday Kisses
Need You Now by Molly O’Keefe- Unless you’re new here, (which if you are, welcome) you know that I am a O’Keefe fan girl. When I saw Need You Now, I knew I needed it. It is part of The Debt series. I think I’ve read most of this series. It’s kind of dark y’all. The heroine spends time in a juvenile detention program that puts her in the home of an abuser. If that is a trigger, please do not read this book. It is probably better if you have read at least the first two books in the series to Continue Reading
Kini’s Friday Kisses
This week I have mini reviews for three books by new to me authors. The Blacksmith Queen by G.A. Aiken- I rarely read outside contemporary but when Jane, the Kensington publicist, told me about this book I felt compelled to read it. She described it as feminist and humorous with a kick ass heroine and a shifter/centaur hero. All of those things are correct. Seriously, a sure fire way to sell me on a book is to tell me that it is feminist. The heroine, Keeley is a magnificent blacksmith Continue Reading
Kini’s Friday Kisses
I’m back! I’ve read a few books lately but haven’t quite felt like talking about them. Sometimes even writing mini reviews can feel stressful. Review content warnings: references to emotional abuse, abortion, grief/death Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes- Although not a straight romance, more fiction with romantic elements, it does have a happily ever after. CW: grief, emotional abuse by an intimate partner & parent. The heroine, Evvie like Chevy, is a widow but she is not Continue Reading

I'm working on giving up my daily latte from Dunkin Donuts and caffeine withdrawl is no joke. So I spent a couple of nights in bed early. It's been five days since I last had my beloved latte and I am doing okay. Some Continue Reading
Kini’s Friday Kisses
I feel like it has been forever since I talked about what I was reading! I looked back and it has been a few weeks, but I am back now. Here’s what I read recently. What Matters More by Liora Blake- I picked this up because I have read and enjoyed all of her previous books. For the most part I found this book boring and lacking emotional connection. Too much emotional stuff happened off page. That is annoying to me. There was a fair amount of sex though if that is something you are Continue Reading
Kini’s Thursday Kisses
Friday Kisses are being delivered on Thursday today. Tomorrow I will be off celebrating my son as he graduates from college. If you follow me on social media, be prepared for pictures :) Here’s some of the books I read recently. Hold Out: Returning Home #4 by Serena Bell- Overall this book is a decent read. I’ve read several of Bell’s books and I really enjoy her voice. This series has been wonderful and is centered around a group of friends that were previously in the military. But it is Continue Reading
Kini’s Friday Kisses
I didn’t read nearly as much this week as last week, but I have got lots to say about the book I did read. The Last Dance by Aimee Brown. First I want to acknowledge that the blurb mentions this book is perfect for fans of Nicholas Sparks, Jodi Picoult, & Anna Bell. I don’t know who Anna Bell is but neither of the other two authors write romance, but I was willing to give this book a try because the hero is a widower and falls in love with his wife’s sister, who's is also his BFF. Y’all Continue Reading
