How it started How it's going Almost 5 years ago Mandi DM'ed me to ask me if I ever wanted to write a review for Smexy and I did. I wanted it so bad. Little did she know- I'd been an avid Smexy reader for quite some time. I knew that if Mandi, Tori, or Sheena loved a contemporary, I was going to love it too. And they asked ME to join the crew. To say I was excited was an understatement!Mandi and Tori taught me so much about blogging and reviewing. They were both adamant that we be honest Continue Reading
Kini’s Favorite Books of 2020
2020 brought us many, many challenges. But the one thing that remained a constant reprieve for me from the challenges were books. I didn’t read as many as I hoped. I didn’t love as many as I usually do, but still the books were there when I needed them. I had a hard time coming up with this list for many reasons. The list doesn’t represent the “best” books but rather the ones I loved the most because they brought me joy and happiness while I read them. In no particular Continue Reading

We made it another Friday friends! Yay! Here are a few things I found on the interwebz recently! 10. Have you heard about the Romancelandia Holiday Fairies Gift Drive organized by Andrea from Shelf Love Podcast? Angela mentioned it in last week's top ten, but we wanted to mention it again. It's a way to connect people in the romance community who need help with gifts this year with other community members who can buy a gift or two and make their holidays a little more special. We are Continue Reading

Jenny Holiday's most recent book A Princess For Christmas was released in October and is available at all book retailers & e-tailers! Thank you Jenny for sharing some of your non-traditional traditions with us! Watching Hallmark Christmas movies with my dad. Did Not Finish Friday
Here's a round up of books that I started but didn't work for me. Spoiler Alert by Olivia Dade - I was so excited about this book. The cover is gorgeous. And I am 100% here for fat people finding the love they desire. But this book was a terrible let down for me. I made it 40% and I just felt so disconnected from the story. For me, the beginning being so steeped in the world of fan fiction, particularly a fictional version of Game of Thrones, which I don’t watch. For me, this was a Continue Reading
Joint Review: Call Me Maybe by Cara Bastone
Melinda and I are Cara Bastone fan girls so I thought it would be fun for us to do a joint review of Bastone’s latest release- Call Me Maybe, An Audible Original. Kini: The whole premise is that Vera, the female main character, calls tech support and starts an hours long call with Cal, the male main character. I love these kinds of set ups. When I first started this story I wasn’t sure I was going to love the male narrator’s voice. It was stronger and deeper than I had imagined. Continue Reading
