I first read this book in 2017 and have recommended this book approximately 5,000 times…give or take a few. It’s hands down my favorite contemporary grovel novel I’ve EVER read and until I read this book, I was laboring under the misconception that I didn’t care for enemies-to-lovers as a trope. Not only is that a big bold-faced lie, enemies-to-lovers is actually one of my all time favorite tropes in romance and this book was the first time I realized that. Aspen and Bram are like oil and Continue Reading
Scenic Sunday- Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean
This is one of my very favorite historical romances. I reread this book so often I think I've memorized whole chapters. This is the scene that leads to Callie and Ralston having smex for the first time. I also love the scene immediately after when Callie is furiously cleaning the library and Ralston comes to ask for her hand in marriage and she says no... which is like ten pages so you'll just have to go read it for yourself. 😊 This book is also getting a new cover for its paperback Continue Reading
Scenic Sunday: Marrying Winterborne by Lisa Kleypas
If you’re a regular on Romance Twitter, you’re probably aware that there’s a certain Lisa Kleypas histrom that is constantly evoked by the most feral of its fans by four simple words. “Not five fucking minutes.” These four words are iconic and have made Rhys Winterborne, the character who utters them, equally iconic in the pantheon of Lisa Kleypas heroes. St. Vincent may have his charm and Derek Craven may have his beloved’s spectacles but Rhys Winterbourne’s entire personality can Continue Reading
Scenic Sunday: Faefever by Karen Marie Moning
When Angela first mentioned the idea of Scenic Sunday, I KNEW EXACTLY which series I wanted to revisit. I just wasn't sure which scene. Hmmm....so many great moments in the Fever Series. I think this series is what got me into urban fantasy and down the rabbit hole of Jeaniene Frost, Kresley Cole, Gena Showalter, Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews, and of course, JR Ward. I seriously need to reread this series, it's been years. Jericho Barrons will always be my #1 book boyfriend!! I'm already Continue Reading
Scenic Sunday- The Kraken King by Meljean Brook
Everyone has their absolute favorite romance and fantasy reads that they revisit time and again. Sometimes starting from the beginning and reading all the way through. And sometimes there are just THOSE scenes that take your breath away and stay with you forever and it's nice to jump back in for a little reminder of why you loved them so much. So this is Smexy's trip down memory lane to our favorite scenes from our favorite books. I thought I'd start with one of mine. - Angela There was no Continue Reading
