Julianna is here today to talk about Difficult People. Her newest novel, Bench Player, is out on March 30. I've already read and I can confirm, the heroine and hero are both difficult, but in the best of ways. People say I’m difficult, and sometimes that’s a badge of honor. – Bill Murray I like difficult people. Maybe not so much in real life, but in books? Yeah, I love ’em. Give me your prickly, your sarcastic, your snarky, your flawed. I want ’em all. And the reason I want them is Continue Reading

Angela’s Minis- Reviews for books by Christina Lauren and Julianna Keyes
The Honey Don't List by Christina LaurenContemporary RomanceMarch 24, 2020 by Gallery BooksARC Christina Lauren is one of those author duos that I keep on my auto buy list even though their books have gradually moved toward more semi-closed door romance and womens fiction rather than the hotter than hell romances I remember back in the day when they first started publishing together. I miss those down and dirty, filthy love scenes. The Honey Don't List starts out in a way that completely Continue Reading

A heartwarming and refreshing debut novel that proves one thing: there's not enough data in the world to predict what will make your heart tick. Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases—a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with, and way less experience in the dating department than the average thirty-year-old. It doesn't help that Stella has Asperger's and French kissing reminds Continue Reading
Monday Mini’s- Mini reviews for books by Christina Lauren and Katie Porter
The Honey Don’t List by Christina Lauren- I have read many of Lauren’s books. They are usually very enjoyable to me. Although I really disliked the last one, Twice in a Blue Moon for lots of reasons. I still wanted to read this book. I didn’t love it and I didn’t hate it. It felt similar in a few ways to Dating You Hating You, work enemies of some sort that fall in love. (CW: workplace sexism, emotional abuse by boss, disabled heroine) There was nothing spectacular about this book for me. Continue Reading

Kini’s Friday Kisses- Mini reviews for books by Corinne Michaels and Allison Ashley
All I Ask by Corinne Michaels- I picked this up at the recommendation of my good friend Estelle, publicist at Forever Romance. She told me it was a second chance romance between single parents who are 35 ish. I felt like I needed to read this and then had really high expectations. (CW: widower hero, grief, ailing parent) The heroine, Teagan, is struggling to get by. She runs her parents antique store. She is raising her teenage daughter alone. One day the school calls and Teagan’s Continue Reading
Review: The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ KluneLGBT FantasyMarch 17, 2020 by Tor BooksARC Favorite Quote: "Hope?" Linus said stupidly."Hope," Mr. Parnassus repeated. "Because that is what we must give him, what we must give all of them. Hope and guidance and a place to call their own, a home where they can be who they are without fear of repercussion." I’ve seen TJ Klune talking about his new book with his new publisher on Twitter for awhile now. As soon as I read the blurb I knew I had to Continue Reading

Crush the King by Jennifer EstepCrown of Shards #3FantasyMarch 17, 2020 by Harper VoyagerARC Favorite Quote- I had started this journey as a gladiator, and I was going to finish it as one. The finale to the Crown of Shards series was exactly what I hoped it would be. What began as a young, seemingly insignificant, woman witnessing the annihilation of her entire family line ends with a queen avenging their deaths and crushing her enemies. At her side are her friends, family, and consort Continue Reading
