This week I have mini reviews for three books by new to me authors. The Blacksmith Queen by G.A. Aiken- I rarely read outside contemporary but when Jane, the Kensington publicist, told me about this book I felt compelled to read it. She described it as feminist and humorous with a kick ass heroine and a shifter/centaur hero. All of those things are correct. Seriously, a sure fire way to sell me on a book is to tell me that it is feminist. The heroine, Keeley is a magnificent blacksmith Continue Reading

Definitely give her a follow on all the things. Take it away Lola- Suspenseful. Gripping. Must Read. Psychological. Intense. Dark. Haunting. I just finished reading and I still feel a prickly sensation on the back of my neck. This is Butterfly in Frost by Sylvia Day. The most anticipated read of the year is Continue Reading

A: I’ve always been one of those women who have enjoyed fierce female friendships. I think that soulmates, even for heterosexual women, can be just as necessary with other women as with men, and a real hero must not just love and respect you, but also your tribe. I wanted to write a Continue Reading

If you are familiar with GA Aiken/Shelly Laurenston then you know how much humor and zaniness are packed into her storytelling. Her over the top characters, the wonderful, sometimes bloody and violent, yet loyal extended family, the broad, interesting worldbuilding, and the fierce women who are the center of everything. THIS IS BOOK Continue Reading
