Nicole and Mandi Chat about Emotional M/M Books
I talk a lot on Twitter with Nicole (who also blogs at The Book Pushers) about books. After a little pushing (me pushy? No way.) she tried the m/m romance genre...and she has found some great books. We wanted to do a post exploring just what it is that draws us so emotionally to certain characters in this genre. Mandi: First of all Nicole, we know you tweet and blog. Give us a little more background about yourself. Nicole: Oh dear, I’m not very interesting... Let’s see - I’ve been married Continue Reading

Smexy’s Top Ten–November 11th
10. Earlier in the week, a deer hunter fell out of a tree at the end of my street (my street dead-ends at a big wooded area. Also, I live in redneckville). Four fire trucks, three ambulances, police and the medevac helicopter all came. I guess he had a phone, and was able to call 9-1-1. It was dramatic, especially watching the helicopter try to land in this small field on my street. I have no idea how hurt the hunter was, I hope he is okay. My little street can’t handle that type of chaos! Continue Reading

10. My week - I survived a field trip to Washington, D.C with the second grade class. Besides the very long bus ride to get there, it was really fun. We went to the American History Museum and my seven year old was in heaven. He could have stayed there all day looking at each exhibit. Best of all, I didn’t lose any children! Hooray for me! 9. Men Under the Mistletoe Anthology with Josh Lanyon, Harper Fox, Ava March and K.A. Mitchell. HO HO HO Hookers! Smexy can not wait to read this Continue Reading
The Smexy Family is Growing
Tori and I are happy to share with you today that we have two new reviewers starting at Smexy Books! Helyce and May. I’ve been thinking for awhile now about bringing on a new reviewer or two. To keep up with reviews, Tori and I have a very strict reading schedule. Which we are not complaining about, because if we didn’t read every day, we would go insane. We have to read. But at the same time, we get these great recommendations from others, and if the book is not on our Continue Reading

10. My Week – My five year old graduates from preschool today. YAY for no more preschool checks. Boo for my kids getting so big! 9. The Lothaire cover has been revealed. What do we think? I don’t know. I LOVE Lothaire in the series and I’m dying for his book. But I don’t want to picture the above dude when I read about him. Sorry – just doesn’t work for me. But I will do dirty deeds to get my hands on a copy of Lothaire. Also – super excited that is the title of the book. Bring it Continue Reading
Mandi and Tori’s Top 20 Books for 2010
Mandi’s Top 20 30 books for 2010 I am listing them in order that I read them this year. Okay, so I told Tori to name her top 20 and then cheated and included 30 instead of 20. I couldn’t cut any. *clings to list* Some are 2009 releases that I read this year, some I’ve grouped into series because multiple books in one series were released this year. Here we go! Lead Me On by Victoria Dahl – Chase is one of the HOTTEST heroes I have read this year and I love Victoria Dahl’s style. Elemental Continue Reading
