I’ve always loved to read, but it has only been about the last three years where I must admit to it becoming somewhat of an addiction. When I innocently commented to a friend that I had read the Twilight series and really enjoyed it, she said, “Well, if you liked that, you’d probably like some of these.” She proceeded to pull boxes out from storage in her garage and opened them to reveal so many books I was overwhelmed. The first series she gave me was the Argeneau Vampire series by Lynsay Continue Reading

Helyce’s Favorite Books of 2011
When Mandi asked me to put together a list of my favorite reads for 2011, I thought “piece of cake!”, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. First, I didn’t do a good job of keeping track of everything I’ve read this year and two; I found it extremely difficult not to list every “I just couldn’t put it down” book that I had read. Before I begin, I would like to thank Mandi for inviting me to be a part of her team here at Smexy Books. I have had so much fun and the opportunity to read books that I Continue Reading
Mandi’s Favorite Books of 2011
I’ve about 280 books this year, and it just so happens that 20 of them were five star reads for me. Some of them are books released prior to 2011, but all of them were read this year. Contemporary: Sweet as Sin by Inez Kelley (Review) This book is surprisingly dark with such a tortured hero. He is brutal and not always easy to like, but written so well. The Reluctant Nude by Meg Maguire (Review) This book hit me hard. So many emotions went through me as I read and it is one of Continue Reading
May’s Favorite Books of 2011
This is not a list of all the good books I read this year, not even all the great books I read this year. This is a list of my personal favorite books I read in 2011. I have to admit that I have a very healthy TBR pile, and more “best” reads could very well be lurking in there. Some of my favorite authors are not on this list because I did not read a “best ever I loved it sooo much” book from them this year, which is a bummer. Also disappointing me is that I do not have a lot of strong Continue Reading
Tori’s Favorite Books of 2011
2011 has been a big year for my library. I was introduced to new authors, became reacquainted with old authors, and even had a few break ups. I wish I could list every book I’ve read this year in here because there were hundreds that were wonderful. As usual, I went a little overboard on my list. I hope you enjoy. :) Immortal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #2) by Larissa Ione (Review) The second installment of the Ione’s sexy, funny, action packed Lord Of Deliverance series takes us for quite Continue Reading
Smexy’s Top Ten– Favorite Sex Scenes of 2011
Since this is “SMEXY Books” I feel a favorite sex scene post is important. And fun! After looking over my list, I realize while these have well written sex scenes, I would also recommend each book as a whole. You know for those other things like plot and character development. But back to the sex… Please note that obviously this is more explicit than the normal posts here at Smexy. I’ve listed them by the date they were published this year. By the Book by Scarlett Parrish Continue Reading
Smexy’s Top Ten–December 16th
10. My Week – As you read this I’m making gingerbread houses with the Kindergarten class. They frost/glue graham crackers to the little cardboard milk containers they use at lunch. It works really well and turns out so cute. On a totally unrelated note, I love that ornament. (Thanks Angie for the pic!) 9. Big news from Nalini Singh. Are you ready? The next Guild Hunter book will be titled Archangel’s Storm and will be Jason’s book!! Who the heck is he? The angel with the black wings….oh yes. Continue Reading
Smexy’s Top Ten–November 11th
10. Earlier in the week, a deer hunter fell out of a tree at the end of my street (my street dead-ends at a big wooded area. Also, I live in redneckville). Four fire trucks, three ambulances, police and the medevac helicopter all came. I guess he had a phone, and was able to call 9-1-1. It was dramatic, especially watching the helicopter try to land in this small field on my street. I have no idea how hurt the hunter was, I hope he is okay. My little street can’t handle that type of chaos! Continue Reading
Smexy’s Top Ten–November 4th
10. Trick or Treating has come and gone and I have to say we had a successful night. My 5 yr old went as an “old man with a walking stick” (his idea!) and my 7 year old was Jack Sparrow. We sneak out of our street (which is dark, and the houses aren’t very close together) and go to a big development near my parents. All the houses do such a nice job decorating and making it very festive for the kids. We had a good time. 9. Gena Showalter has released the cover for Wicked Nights, the Continue Reading
‘Tis the Season for Romance
Are we in the holiday spirit yet? Yes, I know we haven’t even made it through Halloween, but Walmart already has their Christmas decorations up. And, I’ve been receiving a lot of holiday romance books from Mr. UPS man. So I’m in the mood for eggnog and some smexy ho ho ho’s. A few of the holiday books we have received over the past few weeks: I’ve learned, that our fellow Smexy Books reviewer, May loves, loves, loves her holiday romance books and will be reviewing a couple of the Continue Reading
