To Be Read–February

Discussion, To Be Read

A few titles I’m looking forward to coming up in February. You can check out my previous January post as well.

winterblaze

Winterblaze by Kristen Callihan – February 26. Thanks to the prodding of many of my friends, I read book one, Firelight in this paranormal historical series and really enjoyed it. Bonus – book two is pretty awesome as well. Very excited for book three in this series. Each book has a new HEA, but I recommend starting from the beginning. Goodreads l Kindle

lordofdarkness

Lord of Darkness by Elizabeth Hoyt – February 26. One of my favorite series, this book gives us the story of Godric St. John and Margaret Reading. I recommend reading this series in order as well. They are all good. Goodreads l Kindle

fadetoblack

Fade to Black by Francis Knight – February 7. The start to a new trilogy and when I read the blurb, I became totally hooked.

Mahala: a city built in the dark depths of a valley. A city built up in layers, not across – where streets are built upon streets, buildings balance precariously upon buildings. A city that the Ministry rules from its lofty perch at the sunlit summit & where the forsaken lurk in the shadowy depths of the Pit.

Rojan is a bounty hunter trying to make his way in the city. Everyone knows he’s a womaniser, a shirker of all responsibility, but they don’t know he’s also a pain-mage: able to draw magic from his own & other people’s pain. He’s not keen on using it (not least because it’s outlawed), but when his niece is abducted and taken to the dark depths of the Pit, he may just be forced to unleash his power .

Bounty Hunter? Womaniser? Responsibility shirker? Yes….sign me up. Goodreads l Kindle..

thebestman

The Best Man by Kristan Higgins – February 26. The start to her new Blue Heron series. Confession: I’ve never read Kristan Higgins. Goodreads l Kindle.

onenightcowboy

One Night with a Cowboy by Cat Johnson – February 26. Cowboy alert! Per the blurb, the hero can ‘buck all night long.’ Oh my. Goodreads l Kindle.

highrisk

High Risk by Vivian Arend – March 5. First in a new series and I really like this author’s voice. Hero has a permanent injury from a previous mission – he is part of an elite search and rescue squad. Heroine lost her partner in a fatal accident. Oh yes. I can’t wait for this one. Goodreads l Kindle.

throwncurve

Thrown by a Curve by Jaci Burton – March 3. Never can resist a Jaci Burton sports book *grins* Goodreads l Kindle.

seeingisbeliev

Seeing is Believing by Erin McCarthy – March 5. I believe her Fast Track series is over. This starts her Ohio Most Haunted Town series. I am personally not a fan of ghost books…so someone else read this and let me know if it is good. Goodreads (not on there yet)  l Kindle

frost burned_front mech.indd

Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs – March 5. I LOVE this series, but at the same time the past couple have been boring in my opinion. Please, please let this one be good. Per the blurb, Adam disappears and Mercy must turn to the vampires for help. Goodreads l Kindle.

uncommonpleasureUncommon Pleasure by Anne Calhoun – March 5. I am very excited for upcoming book from this author. I love, love, love her voice.  This book contains two novellas, both appear to feature heroes home from the wary. So excited for this one. Goodreads l Kindle.

trickster

Trickster by Jeff Somers – February 26. Oooh…new UF series. I’m in the mood for a cool new UF world. I think I might have to try this one. Goodreads l Kindle.

confidencetricks

Confidence Tricks by Tamara Morgan – February 12. I’ve heard some really good buzz about this book. May enjoys this author’s voice and I can’t wait to try it. Goodreads l Kindle.

Ohhh. *adds books to TBB list

The Erin McCarthy book is related to HEIRESS TO HIRE, which I believe is getting re-released. I’m not sure if her Fast Track series is done though. Maybe Trelaina would know???

I was lucky to read Anne Calhoun and Tamara Morgan’s books early. And they are both AWESOME. I loved them.

I like Kristan Higgins’s book but they are kind of forgettable. They are more like the perfect beach read. The only one that I love and didn’t trade in was Too Good to Be True

Well, I was bummed when I read there’s no Adam, but then maybe we’ll get to see more Bran. Marrok should help in search for Adam! Seriously!
I don’t know what to expect from Lord of Darkness, but can’t wait to see…
