I know it is only September, but there have been so many tempting covers recently for books coming out next year. So let’s take a little look at what I am anticipating:
January:
Tairen Soul – C.L. Wilson – The fifth and final book in her Tairen Soul series. Greatly anticipating this book. C.L. Wilson has stated she is going to start a new series, but will come back to write Bel and Galen’s books!! I don’t read a lot of fantasy, but I adore this series. The second book, Lady of Light and Shadow is one of my all time favorites. Dorchester had on its website a release date of January 2010. I now cannot find that specific page. So – I may be wrong about the date. Please let me know if you have other information!
Ectasy Unveiled – Larissa Ione. Fourth book in her Demonica series, this one will feature Lore. The fifth untitled book is this series is due out fall 2010. One of the hottest series about demons out there. I know I just mentioned in yesterday’s post that I am not into naked torso with tattoos for a cover, but maybe it is the purple that I am digging? Plus, her covers are beautiful in person. (January 26th)
Pleasure of a Dark Prince – Kresely Cole. Continuing her Immortals After Dark series, this will be Lucia and Garreth’s story. What do we think of the cover? Not sure if I like the pink, however, I didn’t like Kiss of a Demon King’s cover until I saw it in person and then liked it much more. So we shall see. I also hope to like the heroine more than in KODK. Sabine was not for me. Definitely ready for more Valkyrie though! Kresely Cole also has a duology with Gena Showalter coming out October 13th – Deep Kiss of Winter. (January 19th)
February:
First Drop of Crimson – Jeaniene Frost. I don’t think there is a cover out there for this one yet (if there is, please let me know!) This will be the first spin-off book in Frost’s Night Huntress series featuring Spade, Bones’ best friend. (February 9th)
In other Jeaniene Frost news, the second spin-off book, featuring Mencheres now has a title – ETERNAL KISS OF DARKNESS and will be out August 2010! She says Mencheres will have a love interest named Kira who is new to the Night Huntress world. Archangel’s Kiss – Nalini Singh. Second in her Guild Hunter series, this book will continue with Raphael and Elena’s story. How could it not after Angels’ Blood ended?? Other books are planned for the series and hopefully we get some of the other delicious angel stories. I am also very curious about Dimitri!
I love this cover!! Don’t look too closely though if you haven’t read Angels’ Blood yet! There is a spoiler ;) (February 2nd)
March:
Mind Games – Carolyn Crane. In her debut novel, Carolyn Crane, of The Thrillonth Page, is coming out with what looks like an awesome book, in her words – Mind Games is the first in an urban fantasy trilogy about a hypochondriac who joins a psychological hit squad. It takes place in a fantastical Milwaukee/Chicago. (March 23rd)
I’m so excited for Carolyn!!
Silver Borne – Patrica Briggs. This is one of my most anticipated for 2010. Adam, Sam, Mercy and gang – some of the best characters out there. When I hear any tidbits I will pass them on! (March 30th)
April:
The Summer of You – Kate Noble. The third book by Kate Noble, the heroine is this one, Lady Jane was a supporting character is one of my favorite books Revealed. Kate recently put an excerpt on her site for The Summer of You. Go HERE to read it. I am loving this cover – just so pretty.(April 6th)
Lover Mine – JR Ward. Eighth book in her Black Dagger Brotherhood series – this will feature John Matthew and Xhex. (April 2010)
Hellfire – Anne Aguirre. The second in her Corinne Solomon series. The first, Blue Diablo was an excellent read. Can’t wait for more from Corinne and Chance! (April 2010)
May:
Magic Bleeds – Ilona Andrews – Kate Daniels book four. Not sure if I will survive the wait!!
So what else? I need to get my pre-order fix! What did I miss?
This is a pretty good list! I can't think of any to add to it right now…maybe after I get some caffeine. :)

2010 is going to have so many great books and many excellent debut authors! Better start saving your pennies now! :D

There are so many books I'm already waiting for in 2010! Sookie's next book in May, Richelle Mead has 2 books coming out, Rachel Vincent too! My waiting list is pretty long already!

Great list, Mandi! CANNOT wait for Jeaniene Frost's books…now that you made me into an addict (thanks a lot!!)–I think the cover for Pleasure of a Dark Prince is awful, but I hope this book is good. Can't wait to read Carolyn's book…so exciting! And, I wasn't too keen on John Matthew and Xhex in the last book, so I could care less about them. Maybe Ward will make them more likable in their own book. Hope so! Another one to add, Dark Peril by Christine Feehan. Don't know who the characters are yet, but I'm hoping it will be Skyler and Dimitri. I really liked Dark Slayer, so I'm feeling optimistic about Feehan these days!

Mandi-Just so you know, I totally loved John Matthew at the beginning of the series. But I was way bummed with him in the last book…and I wasn't feeling the love between him and Xhex-at all. Ward did a much better job showing the bond between Xhex and Rhev than Xhex and JM. I found it incredibly hard to believe that at the end of Rhev's book he is suddenly all "I gotta go get my woman!"–where the hecka did that come from? Sorry for my rant…I really loved JM and felt like Ward did not do him justice in Lover Avenged.

Megan Hart has Switch coming out in January 2010. Kat Martin has Reese's Bride in Jan & Rule;s Bride in May. Charlotte Featherston's Sinful is coming in May 2010… Matthew's story. Silver James has Faeire Fate in April. Jennifer Haymore has A Touch of Scandal in April. Kelly Armstrong has Tales of the Otherworld in April. Diana Rowland has Blood of the Demon in February. Jennifer Ashely has Pride Mates coming in February too. Kimber Chin has Flawless coming in February too! Beth Kery has Release coming in Feb.
Okay, I am going to stop now… I am waiting patiently for them to come into my greedy little hands!

Oh Penny – I was just being silly!! I love ALL arguments and feelings over characters. If you don't like JM or Xhex then say it here…and say it loud!!!!
I think he has had his mind set on Xhex for awhile..but with his little peni problem, he felt not worthy of her. Why he turned into a humping rabbit – I do not know. I totally see where you are coming from with – why is he now all about Xhex.
Maybe things will be cleared up in his book

I always look forward to a new Mercy Thompson book – but that cover is so ridiculously gorgeous, and I am so happy that Mercy & Adam are finally mated, that the very thought of 'Silver Borne' makes me giddy.
And of course, 'Lover Mine'. You want John Matthew, but I want me some Qhuinn! (and I wouldn't mind some Qhuinn/Blay action too!)
Also looking forward to Jeaniene Frost's first spin-off 'First Drop of Crimson' (February) and all of Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy/Succubus releases.

I haven't had time yet to do some websurfing to discover 2010's new releases, so this list is very handy… Just like Erotic Horizon I am looking forward to the new world Sophie Renwick has created, I read a contemporary of her, Hot in Here, and loved that one. It looks like 2010 is going to be a good book year!
