Guest Post – Gabriel Madison and Giveaway
Smexy is happy to have Gabriel Madison, the author of Three Seeds, his debut fantasy novel here today. The Difference Between A Writer And A StorytellerI would like to start off by saying I mean no offence to anyone with what I’m about to say. It’s only my opinion, my way of seeing the things I’ve come across over the past few years.About a year ago, I was sitting with my cousin watching college football. During a commercial break, I looked over at his cherry red electric guitar and said I Continue Reading
Three Seeds – Gabriel Madison Review
Three Seeds - Gabriel MadisonAugust 19, 2009Urban Fantasy290 pages, paperbackeTreasures PublishingBook provided by the authorI love to read books when I know absolutely nothing about the plot - well let me rephrase. I love to read books where I know nothing about the plot, and the book actually turns out to be good. Three Seeds definitely fit the bill. This book is different - I wouldn't necessarily call it a romance book. Urban Fantasy with a slight romance feel. But, the story was good and it Continue Reading

Covet – J.R. Ward Review
Covet - J.R. Ward (Fallen Angel's Series #1)September 29, 2009Paranormal Romance496 pages, paperbackSignetThose who read this blog regularly, or see me on Twitter know I am a JR Ward junkie. I love the brothers and was super excited to hear she was going to start a new series. Covet is the first in her fallen angels series. Still set in the Black Dagger Brotherhood world and in Caldwell, NY, but no vamps this time- angels and demons. This book gets a big old "meh" from me. Before I go into what Continue Reading

I have known the manager of our local bookstore, Little Professor, for some time now. *waves* Hi Sarah!! A while ago, she asked me if I would want to do a "Smexy Recommends" display at her store. New FTC Guidlines for Bloggers
The FTC just stated that if you are a blogger and you receive a payment or freebie (in my case a book) from a source (publishers, authors, etc..) you must now disclose on your blog that information. So for example, if I received a book from a publisher or author, whether it is an ARC or any book, I must state for the record that I received it for free. This goes into effect 12/1/09 and the FTC will fine for noncompliance.Confused a bit? Here is the official release. Here is an easier to read Continue Reading
