Patricia Briggs made a stop in Houston last week, and John from the blog, John’s Book Blog that needs a better title (hey, his words, not mine) was lucky enough to attend, and nice enough to post a recap of everything she talked about. Included is her news about a possible Mercy movie *gasp*, news about possible spin off books with supporting characters *double gasp* and she talks a bit about the rape scene in Iron Kissed which I found to be very interesting. She mentions that she does NOT have plans for a book just about Bran. It is a good thing I was not at the signing because after that announcement I may have chained myself to her until she changed her mind. I heart Bran! Silliness aside, Patricia Briggs is one of my favorite authors, and John gives a nice recap. Go check it out.
Wicked Little Pixie has an early review of Lover Mine and it is spoiler-free! Go forth and drool.
There is a brand new blog on the block – Kindlelicious Reads. She has a great review style that will have you giggling all the while giving you the important details of the book. She likes boxed wine (hello!) and I may forgive her for being obsessed with Ryan Reynolds (who does nothing for me) – but she redeems herself for being a Barrons fan girl. She is also on Twitter. Definitely a blog you should check out.
Another blog I want to mention is Darkly Reading. I started chatting with Heather on Twitter and have really enjoyed reading her blog. She does romance and urban fantasy book reviews and sometimes includes pictures of who she sees as the hero. Her reviews are very personable and entertaining. Right now she is reviewing the Demonica series by Larissa Ione, one of my favorites.
Molly Harper has revealed her latest cover for her new contemporary romance
The unofficial blurb:
It’s the story of Lacey, who finds out her husband is cheating, when a drunk florist delivers his mistress’ flowers to her door. She responds by sending a mass e-mail to his friends, family, and business clients describing his affair in amazing Technicolor detail. A newly minted media punchline and the defendant in her husband’s libel lawsuit, Lacey’s exiled from her little Southern town to a lakeside cabin in the middle of nowhere. She meets her new neighbor, a grumpy crime writer with an unfortunate buttock-related nickname. Random nudity and romantic hijinks ensue.
And One Last Thing will be out July 27th.
Marta Acosta has a FREE YA gothic book, The Shadow Girl of Birch Grove up at Scribd. Here is the blurb:
Jane Williams has suffered personal tragedy and learned to survive by hiding in the shadows of life. She thinks she will never escape the misery of her foster home when out-of-nowhere she’s offered a full-scholarship at an elite academy. The school even offers Jane a place of her own to live, the old groundskeeper’s cottage in a dense grove of birch trees.
The very pale and very elegant headmistress, Mrs. Monroe, is especially kind and suggests that Jane earn spending money by tutoring her son, gorgeous pale and blond Lucky. A popular group of girls take Jane into their circle.
It seems too good to be true. It is.
Mrs. Monroe’s elder son, Jack, bothers Jane in ways she doesn’t understand and then an unknown enemy begins threatening her. The more she learns about the school and the headmistress, the more she believes that they are hiding dark secrets. And she begins to suspect that a former scholarship girl didn’t just leave the school on an extended trip.
Why exactly was Jane, who has no family or connections, brought to this school, and what will she risk to stay at Birch Grove?
Finally, some pictures from the upcoming third season of True Blood were released this past week.

I love True Blood. Too bad I don't have HBO (doesn't mean I miss eps *shhhhh). :D
I'm also behind in the Mercy series. Looks like I may throw another book across the room (pick it up, read it and love it in the end). Sigh.

Thanks for the bloggy love! I just finished my Ecstasy Unveiled review – I think I liked doing the Demonica reviews just so I can pair man candy with the book..hehe.. btw I love Briggs books too – I really want a Sam book..I would be all for a Bran book too as long as it's paired with a previous mate..his current mate is such a b*tch!

Thanks for the shout out! You made my day! God I love True Blood, its the whole reason I have been putting off reading the books. I was so shocked at the end of the first season, I didn't want to read the books and know what will happen. Plus, they are ::GASP:: real books, not on my Kindle, which is just not as appealing.
