10. Rainy and cloudy all week – so what did I do? Read three BDSM books. What else is a girl to do? Two I loved, one I didn’t. See below for more. Hubs also turned 33 – he requested oyster stew for dinner. So like a good wife I called his mother and said – hey, make your son oyster stew! Oysters in a cream sauce – I just can’t do it. ;) 9. One of my favorite authors, Ilona Andrews (who writes the Kate Dainels and Edge series) has a new short story out called Of Swine and Roses. I Continue Reading
Smexy’s Top Ten – October 22nd
10. My Week – I went to the pumpkin patch for the last time on a preschool field trip (next year my youngest will be in Kindergarten). It was kind of bitter sweet but so much fun. Four year olds are a crazy bunch :) I am no longer acknowledging the hot tub that is sitting in my driveway. We now are handing over our life savings to an electrician who needs to install a complete new electrical system in our house. And there is talk of a contractor….*weeping* ;) 9. This morning I Continue Reading
Book, Blog and Other News
Patricia Briggs made a stop in Houston last week, and John from the blog, John’s Book Blog that needs a better title (hey, his words, not mine) was lucky enough to attend, and nice enough to post a recap of everything she talked about. Included is her news about a possible Mercy movie *gasp*, news about possible spin off books with supporting characters *double gasp* and she talks a bit about the rape scene in Iron Kissed which I found to be very interesting. She mentions that she does NOT have Continue Reading
TV News
True BloodThere a couple of new additions to my favorite vampire show on television, True Blood.Joe Manganiello, best know for his role on One Tree Hill, has been cast as Alcide Herveaux, the werewolf that helps Sookie track down Bill in book (and season) three. Think he growls as good as he looks?Theo Alexander has been cast as Talbot, the boyfriend of the vampire king of Mississippi, Russell Edgington. This makes my male/male smutty heart thump extra hard. I mean - look at him. Pair him up Continue Reading
True Blood – My Lust Has Reached a New Low
Before I tell you how low I have become in my fictional lust for a character, let's start at the beginning. There is a little show on HBO called True Blood, have you heard of it? ;) It is in its second season and based on a series of books by Charlaine Harris. Which by the way, last week, ALL eight Sookie books were on the New York Times Best Seller list. That is crazy!!While I enjoyed last season, the episodes this year have been really great in my opinion. I am completely in love with Continue Reading

True Blood This Sunday
The second season of True Blood starts this Sunday, 9pm on HBO. This series is based on Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse books. The ninth book in that series, Dead and Gone was just released last month. We left off last season with Bill turning Jessica, a young woman into a vampire, and although he did it against her wishes, she now embraces it and likes to call Bill "dad." She was too much for Eric to handle so he left her with Bill. Sookie has revoked Bill's invitation to her house. Tara and Continue Reading
Sneak Peek at True Blood Season Two
One of my favorite shows on TV, True Blood on HBO, based on Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series, starts up again June 14th. Here is a little preview. I've only read the first three books in the series but I am definitely going to finish it before season two starts. As with any book that is turned into a television series or movie, things are changed but I think they did a pretty good job with sticking to the overall plot with the first season. I'm pretty sure I know what hunts down Continue Reading
