News From Mandi: I finished A Blood Seduction by Pamela Palmer. I don’t know what to make of this book. Extremely dark and violent vampire world that really intrigued me. This is Urban Fantasy so there is no HEA at the end, although there is a hero and heroine I assume will eventually get together. Very bleak world though – and I’m not sure if I bought into the lust between the h/h. We’ll talk more towards the end of the month. I read and really enjoyed Succubi are Forever by Jill Myles. This one wraps up the story arc of Zane/Noah/Jackie. It was funny with a nice plot. I really hope she returns to this world. Review will be up soon. I started A Patch of Darkness by Yolanda Stetos, a new ghost type urban fantasy book but after about halfway through I set it aside. You can read why on my GR blurb, it’s a bit spoilery. Finally, I read The Siren by Tiffany Reisz. This book blew me away. It’s a very complicated, erotic (kind of) BDSM book with not a traditional HEA at the end. I’m going to post my review on Tuesday. We have lots to talk about *grins* I’m currently reading Fastball by V.K. Sykes. I like baseball romances – I’m about 25% through, very light but cute so far.
News From Tori: Reread of Lauren Dane’s Chase series. I like her Brown series better though these were good. They read repetitious after the 2nd one. Ilona Andrews’s Gunmetal Magic made an appearance in my mailbox and I DEVOURED it. 5 stars all the way. Review to come. Just finished up Jeaniene Frost’s Once Burned. Wasn’t quite what I had anticipated. I missed Vlad’s sly humor and I didn’t feel a romantic connection between Vlad and Leila. Luckily, there is a 2nd Night Prince book coming next summer and maybe in there I will feel better about their relationship. I’m pretty sure I am in the minority with this rating. LOL. Sierra Dean sent me an arc of Keeping Secret-4th book in her Secret McQueen series. OMG really? I swear Sierra purposely uses these book to mess with me. She certainly keep us on our toes in here and whoa mama!!! The finale is a doozy. Review to come. Jenna Black’s Deadly Descendant was a fab follow up and I enjoyed sinking back into this complicated life our heroine now lives. Review to come. I was offered Summoning The Night by Jenn Bennett for review so of course I had to buy Kindling The Moon because I was told it was a MUST READ. Really enjoyed KTM. Fast paced, well plotted, and a sexy likable heroine and hero. STM didn’t capture me as well though. I loved the plot but it was slow going at times with more talking then actually doing. Review to come. Moira Roger’s Archer’s Lady takes us back to those sexy bloodhounds and the smart women who capture their hearts and never let go. Fast sexy reads. Review to come. Christine Bell’s The Bewitching Tale Of Stormy Gale was a cute story but I felt some of our characters weren’t as developed and at times came across flat. This weekend has me reading Kody Keplinger’s The Duff, AM Arthur’s M/M Cost Of Repairs, Kim Fielding’s M/M Good Bones, and the new Sookie Stackhouse-Deadlocked…. If I have time.
News From May: Catherine Mann’s new book Under Fire was my first read this week – and it wasn’t bad! I liked it a lot better than her last, though the smoldering secondary romance was way better than the main story/couple. Review to come soon.
I also read Karin Hawkins The Taming of a Scottish Princess – and while there was no taming going on, oh how I loved this book. Very light, happy, funny – and I adored these characters big time. Review to come.
Now I’m on a plane to New Jersey, wearing my property of Rangerman T-shirt because I’m a nerdy fan-girl of the first few Plum books (I pretend the series stopped – cuz it’s seriously AWFUL now) and I’ll be going right past Trenton, NJ – home of Stephanie Plum… if fiction was real. Anyhow! I have a kindle that I’ve been ignoring loaded up with new Zoe Archer, Jen Lancaster, and 15 other choices and I’m ready to spend all my travel time reading! Here’s hoping I find some great books this weekend…
News from Helyce: This was a slow reading week for me as I made an attempt to de-clutter a bit around the house. I tried, I really did but all I seemed to accomplish was moving pile A from location A to location B. You get the drift. Small house + too much stuff = big ass mess all over the place! I did manage to finish Karma by Carly Phillips. This is Dare’s book and I really loved it and him. My favorite of the series so far, we see our H/H gain closure from a horrible tragedy and find their way to love. I also finished up Sunrise Point by Robyn Carr. It’s no secret how much I love this series and look forward to each and every release. Sunrise Point was a wonderful edition as we get Nora Crane’s story. I loved watching the growth of this character over the last few books. Review for both of these coming real soon! I also read Last Stop by Lou Harper. This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed it for the most part. There was a small part of it that seemed unnecessary. I’ll go into it in my review. At the moment I am reading Embrace of the Damned by Anya Bast and I am having a lot of fun with it. A paranormal centering around a group of immortal men in service to the Norse God Loki, this is the first of the series. I’ve not read Ms. Bast before but I’m loving her writing style and humor! This weekend, I hope to find time to read in between the four soccer games my kids have between them. For upcoming reviews I have Jacked Up by Erin McCarthy and Willow Springs by Toni Blake.

Mandi: you have been busy, it is always such a good thing to be blown away by a book!
Tori: I want to be you! You have already read Gunmetal Magic, and the new Sierra Dean! I also have an arc of that book, and will read it soon, tell me: does Lucas get hurt? The Jenn Bennett books are on my shelf as well, need to get started in that series. Jenna Black is still on my wishlist. You sure are on a reading high!
May: I want the next Karen Hawkins book, but it has not yet arrived. She is also one of my autobuy authors. Have a nice trip May!
Helyce: nice picks, some authors I still need to start reading as well.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Once again you ladies blow me away w/ all that you read!
I’m currently reading J. Bennett’s KTM, and I know what you mean. I loved the first book and was expecting the same. Aradia… isn’t as kick ass in this book and there’s a character pushing her around that I think her reaction to him seems a bit out of character… hmmm… I need to start the Sierra Dean series. I have them, they just got buried under the TBR e-mountain :) And I think I’m the only person in the world, who still hasn’t read Ilona Andrew’s series (I have them, but again, buried under/in the TBR pile bookshelve)… it’s funny that a lot of these books, that you guys mention are ones that I want to read or have to read. Great readers read a like :)
