News from Mandi: I tried Real by Katy Evans because the hero is a UFC fighter but I didn’t like it. Remy was okay but I really didn’t like the heroine. Nor the storyline in the second half. Review coming this week.
I had to DNF Happenstance by MJ Abraham because the hero skeeved me out. A lot.
Running Free by Jorrie Spencer was pretty good. The hero is a horse shifter (different!) and the heroine a wolf shifter. The second half was better than the first half. Review coming soon.
The Proposition by Jennifer Lyon really surprised me. It has a billionaire hero who while over-protective and alpha, respects the heroine and wants to make her stronger. The heroine is still shaky over an assault that happened to her years ago. This is the first of a trilogy, but I recommend it. Review coming this week.
Kentucky Home by Sarah Title is a really cute, sweet, sexy read. It takes place on a horse farm in Kentucky and I enjoyed both the hero and heroine. This is from a debut author as well. Review coming soon!
Finally I read The Billionaire’s Muse by Ava Lore. Started off okay but there are a lot of WTF moments that start popping up. By the end…it became disturbing….I didn’t like it. I’ll be reviewing soon.
I’m currently reading After Hours by Cara McKenna. It’s quite good. Hero and heroine both work at a lock-down psych ward. Heroine is a brand new nurse and hero is a big, scarred orderly, known to restrain patients really well. Their chemistry and tension is SO GOOD.
News From May: Gonna keep this real short this week! its been crazy.
The good:
Jude’s Law (Lori foster) reread
Cut & Run (Roux & Urban)
The bad:
Undeclared (Jen Frederick)
Murphy’s Law (Lori foster reread)
The great (reviews to come):
Neanderthal seeks Human (Penny Reid)
Ivory (Lola dodge)
Jessi Gage says
I’m chomping at the bit to get to Cara McKenna’s After Hours. I love, love, love her writing. So smart and sexy and with just the right amount of dark edginess to give me that extra little thrill. Looking forward to your review!
The title Neanderthal Meets Human inspires me to head on over to Amazon after leaving this comment. The one click button is calling.
