Favorite Quote: “Jesus. Yes. Oh my God, Jackson, you really are nuts.”

“Good nuts of bad nuts?”

“There’s no such thing as good nuts!”

Smirking, he lowered his hand and cupped his groin. “Sure there is, darlin.”

Oh I love this erotic series by Elle Kennedy. Featuring Navy SEAL heroes and the women who tame them, this is the final installment, and I’m so sad to see it go. As Hot as it Gets is a great end though.

Jackson is all southern charm and nice manners on the outside, but a dominant side comes out inside the bedroom. He goes through a lot of women, and is tired of only hooking up. He wants something more and meaningful in a relationship. He happens to see a cute gardener at his neighbor’s house one day and after talking to her for a bit, there is a definite spark there. He cajoles her into going out on a date with him, even though she is quite reluctant.

Mia is a little shy of dating because she is raising her 16-year-old brother. After their mother took off two years ago, Mia became Danny’s legal guardian. Between keeping him in line and working round the clock, she doesn’t have much time for dating. But Jackson is persistent so she finally gives in. She learns quick that Jackson’s southern drawl and easy smile hides a very naughty man and oh does she like it.

Elle Kennedy has created a group of guys that are alpha, funny and so addicted to sex. I love when they are hanging out together because they give each other such a hard time, and I also love to see them fall in love, because it’s not only romantic but it’s pretty dirty too. They each have such a good sense of humor, especially Jackson. He knows Mia is a little more inexperienced in the bedroom, and he sets out to convince her to let him show her a good time. A little naughty talk at the dinner table kicks things off:

“Tell me one sexy secret nobody knows about you.”

Mia wrapped her fingers around her glass. “Hmmm. Well. How’s this? I keep a nine-inch dildo in a locked drawer beside my bed.”

His semi-erection transformed into a full-blown boner.

Breathing through the intense wave of arousal, Jackson responded in a casual voice. “Interesting. Because my sexy secret was gonna be that I have a nine-inch cock.”

“Wow. Congratulations, big boy.” His date snorted, then raised her glass to her lips.

“Oh, and it’s pierced.”

While she likes to pretend his openness about sex doesn’t affect her, she soon invites him back to her bedroom. He shows her how wonderful and exciting sex can be (she thought it was boring previously) and she wants more, more, more.

Mia is a pretty strong, confident woman. She has some lingering issues from her mother who was not motherly at all that arise throughout the book. Mia kind of freaks out at one point and it felt a little forced and immature – but I really like how she apologizes for it later. Well done Mia. I like how this author writes Mia’s brother too. He felt like a very realistic teenager and added a lot to the story.

We see all the guys from the previous books and there is lots of joking and giving each other a hard time. And this author likes to always sneak in one extra dirty sex scene in each book – this book is no exception. I won’t give away what it is but Smexy approved.

All of these books can be read as a stand alone but I’ve enjoyed the entire series. The first few are more novella length but the last couple are longer, more complete books. I highly recommend this series.

I’m sad this series is ending, so as I read this book, I was hoping that was what she was setting up with the East Coast visitors. Thanks for giving me some hope!!
