News from Mandi: I had a nice reading week. I read Satisfaction by Sarah Mayberry and really enjoyed it. A heroine who has never orgasmed meets a sexy, Brazillian tattoo artist. Spoiler alert – he gives her an orgasm! But….it’s also a nice love story. He courts her and they have to work at their relationship. I recommend.
Sweet Disorder by Rose Lerner is such a well done book. Centered around an election in borough in England, it’s a fascinating story. A wonderful cast of characters, a great hero and heroine and just an overall nice romance. Definitely give this one a try.
I had to DNF The Submission Gift by Solace Ames. The kink was too….kinky for me. Just too over the top. Made me squirmy rather than into it.This week I’m reading Trying Too Hard and Laura’s Wolf.
News from Tori: Not much happening at Casa Benson. We are currently doing some remodeling and home improvements. T replaced our privacy fence. Yay for fences. (lol) Hopefully, he’ll fix the porch roof soon because a piece fell off the other day and hit me in the head.
This weekend, me and the kid (plus her friend) are heading to Orlando for the annual Playlist Live 2014 convention. A youtube convention filled with hundreds and hundreds of screaming tweens. We’ll be there all weekend. *sob* Luckily, this year they offered a special parents pass that gives parents access to a lounge and bar. *fist pump*
The Pirate’s Secret Baby by Darlene Marshall-Adorable historical romance. Lots of humor and heat. Only point of contention is story is a bit long winded. Fantastic characters and dialogue.
The Return of Brody Jennifer Ryan-A likable second chance romance with secret babies, more than one mom, a hero with ptsd, and a little bit of martyr-ism thrown in for good measure. The dialogue was a little silted and the endless recriminations between the two protagonists dragged the story down at times.
Spirited by Mary Behre-An interesting PNR. Wasn’t a fan of the hero but enjoyed the mystery and ghosts sprinkled throughout. Review to come.
Play by Kylie Scott- I laughed so hard while reading this one. Lick was good but Play is fantastic. Mal and Anne are a delight with unmistakable chemistry. Review to come.
Last Breath by Jessica Claire and Jen Frederick-Daniel is the hero we all want in our lives and we can only hope we have ⅓ of the strength Regan processes. Review to come.
Shield Of Winter by Nalini Singh-VASIC! VASIC! VASIC! VASIC! Review to come
Devil’s Game by Joanna Wylde– Funtimes with the Reapers when the princess of the MC finds love with the enemy. Review will post in RT Magazine May issue.
Tiny (The Skulls, #4) Sam Crescent-Enjoyable motorcycle crack. Lots of sexy times with a wrap up to long standing arc.
Four Seconds To Lose by KA Tucker (DNF)-Not a badly written, just boring. I enjoyed Ten Tiny Breathes and One Tiny Lie but in here, nothing new brought to the table. The focus remains heavily on the MCs and their push/pull relationship. The same scenes over and over with over the top drama, emo reactions, and angst.
Burn For Me by Shiloh Walker-Beginning of a new romantic suspense series, this novella introduces us to the mystery surrounding a family whose mother disappeared. A hot steamy romance runs parallel and is the icing on the cake. Review to come.
I’m currently reading Shields of Winter by Nalini Singh and then on to Jennifer Ashley’s Wild Wolf. I also bought a ton of motorcycle romances the other day so I’m pretty sure I’ll be in romance coma by Monday.

So excited about Vasic…
Tori says
LOL Vasic is worth the weight.

I’m so excited for Play by Kylie Scott. Mal was hilarious in Lick and from the teasers I’ve seen it looks like he is even better in Play.
I also can’t wait for Devil’s Game but I think I’m even more excited for Picnic’s book later this year. Hopefully there will be some hints about his story in Em’s book.
Tori says
Mal is a character, that’s for sure.
I can’t wait for Picnic’s story and yes you do get some hints in Devil’s Game.

Will you post a DNF review for The Submission Gift? I really enjoyed the Dom Project and was looking forward to this new one but now I’m apprehensive!
