Smexy’s Top Ten

News from Tori: I’ve had some decent reads this week though some left me shaking my head.

Delinquent Daddy by Linda Kage. An easy to read romance contemporary about to college sweethearts who break up and reunite 10 years later when hero discovers he has a daughter and demands to get to know her. Enjoyable but the title is misleading.

Crossing Boundaries by Sam Crescent. I continue to be amazed that this author’s rom coms are so different from her MC stories. It’s almost as if someone else is writing them. I DNF’d this one when author mentions the bell rang in college, calling them to class. There are no tardy bells in college as far as I know. Also, the heroine came across as VERY juvenile in thought and action.

The Pairing by Katie Ashley. A sweet and romantic rom com that gives us Pesh’s story (the Dr who fell for Emma).

Bad Influence by KA Mitchell. Though I love Mitchell’s writing, this story failed to engage. Everyone in here annoyed me except the hero-Silver. To many plot devices all but buried the main storyline.

Fierce by Nina Levine. The second book in Levine’s Storm MC series bring us Scott’s story-the MC VP. I enjoyed this one far more then book one. Less over the top ridiculous angst and situations. A smooth storyline with plenty of smexy times and a well developed conflict.

Reasonable Doubt-Vol 1 by Whitney G. Williams. Though not a fan of serials, I actually liked this first installment. A rude crude hero who refuses any emotional connection and a heroine whose lies will lead them down a path of no return. I am looking forward to the next 2 though I’ve heard Williams is having trouble getting it ready for release.

Denying The Bad Boy by Jenika Snow. Bad boy meets good girl, falls hard, tries to resist.  Enjoyable with the requisite angst, conflict, and eventual smexy times.

Over Exposed by Stephanie Julian. The 3rd installment in her Salon games. Sexy with a hint of angst, I enjoyed though felt this particular couple coasted through their relationship. My review will appear in July issue of RT Magazine.

Speak Easy and Speak Low by Melanie Harlow. Has from The Book Pushers rec’ed this series to me. A sexy NA that is set in the roaring 20s. Our heroine is stuck between a rock and a hard place when her father’s bootlegging business brings her to the attention of a large mob family. Action packed with a small love triangle, this quick read provides a smooth well developed storyline that engaged me till the end.

I’m currently reading Rusty Nailed by Alice Clayton and Dark & Deadly: Eight Bad Boys of Paranormal Romance. This 8 volume set is only $.99 on AMZ and B&N for a limited time.
