Smexy’s Top Ten – February 27th

February 27, 2015 by Mandi 16 Comments

IMG_572310. This past week I dog-sat a Morkie – a Maltese/Yorkie mix. And I FELL I LOVE. I think I need one, right?? But the thing is – she was sooooo sweet. I basically want her – what if I get one that is super barky or annoying? But she was four pounds of happiness. I need four pounds of happiness in my life.

I currently  have a very overweight pug that is about 35 pounds of smelly happiness. But I need a tiny dog I can dress up and color her hair pink!  Does anyone have a Morkie?

9. Shit Romance Readers say. I’ve said almost all of these things. I know I’ve said “I one-clicked the crap out of that book” at least every other day. ;) Very cute.

8. The pre-order is up for the  new Lisa Kleypas historical (first in a new series) out this fall. Cold-Hearted Rake. Gimmmmmmeee. Gimme right nooooow!!! I’m dying for a new Kleypas historical. I heard her talk about this series at RT last year and it sounds like these heroes will be very rakish indeed.

7. I know y’all have probably seen this but it still is so entertaining to me. LOL. Two llamas on the run in Arizona yesterday. Those little buggers are so hard to catch! Last year we had a goat loose in our town (not my goat) and it was loose for an entire day. No one could catch it. They actually wouldn’t let the kids go outside for recess because the goat had been spotted in the area.

I’m just glad the llamas are safe. Poor babies! But thanks for the laughs llamas. Also – this.

cottoncandy6. Cotton Candy Oreos are coming. Are we excited? Do we even care about these new flavors anymore? I know when the Red Velvet Oreos came out around Valentine’s Day there was actually a thread on my town’s Facebook Page that tracked which grocery store had them in stock because they were so in demand. And then my husband came home from work raving about them. Give me a plain golden Oreo, and I’m good to go. But I’ll totally have to buy these for my kids. ;)

cup5. Speaking of things to eat, KFC is coming out with an edible coffee cup? HUH? Are we this desperate for food???  I guess it’s less waste? Do I really need to eat my cup? Also, who orders coffee at a KFC??? And then this:

The cup itself is made of biscuit, which has been wrapped in sugar paper and then lined with a layer of white chocolate, which melts over time, softening the biscuit enough to melt in your mouth.

…the cups are also infused with a selection of “mood improving aromas,” like “coconut sun cream,” “freshly cut grass,” and “wild flowers,” which “evoke the positive memories we associate with warm weather, sunshine and summer holidays.”

So I’m going to drink my coffee and then eat my freshly cut grass smelling grass and then be happy? Just give me fried chicken and be done with it damn it!

love you4. Who else cried ugly tears during the farewell episode of Parks & Recs? I couldn’t even control myself. Leslie and Ron at the park?? The return of Anne! Ugly tears. If you have never watched Parks & Rec you must. It’s one of the best shows ever #TreatYoSelf!

Now I must prepare for House of Cards that is available on Netflix today!! I’m a Claire lover.

In other TV News, I’m currently watching Death Comes to Pemberley – on Netflix (originally on Masterpiece Theater). It starts 6 years after Pride and Predjudice and well – someone is murdered at Pemberly. I LOVE the cast. It’s a three-part series.

mermaid-lapgan3. I would like someone to crochet me this mermaid blanket!! I NEED! Link. Remember  – Always be yourself, unless you can be a mermaid. Then always be a mermaid.

snowbank2. We had another snow day this week. I’ve decided we have all earned a Smex on a Snowbank martini tonight. I mean – I guess you could go have smex on a snowbank but it’s probably much  more fun to just drink one.

  1. 1 1/2 ounces Malibu rum
  2. 3 tablespoons coconut cream
  3. 6 large ice cubes

Link.

1. This weekend my son’s lego robotics team competes in the state tournament so we are looking forward to that. After that all day event, I think I may have earned myself a martini ;) I’m currently reading A Recipe for Reunion by Vicki Essex. The hero is described as a geeky adult Harry Potter – and is kind of rude to the heroine to start the book (although a good guy). Very good start – we’ll see where the rest goes. Happy Friday!

I watched Death Comes to Pemberley. Loved it.
Plus, both Matthew Rhys and Matthew Goode are so damn handsome in period clothes… :swoon:
    Lisa Kleypas historical! Waaant.
Premise of that Vicki Essex book sounds interesting; looking forward to your review. :)

I am a self-proclaimed Oreo expert and declare that the only kind of Oreos that should be eaten are original and double stuff. Now get off my lawn all you limited-time flavors!

I wish Masterpiece Theater would film Pride & Prejudice yet again with the cast of Death Comes to Pemberley. (The flashbacks were so well-done that I actually searched to see if I’d missed that version!)

    That Morkie is too cute!!

I was thinking that too!! I loved those flashbacks. The woman who plays Elizabeth was cast so well.

YAY!! So excited that Kleypas is going back to Historical’s again…it has been so long. I love her contemp’s….but her historical romances are by far her best work. Counting down the days until I get to meet these rakes….gimme, gimme, gimme. LOL

OMG I want a Morkie too!! We already have 2 dogs (German Shorthair = Carrie and a Bischon/Westie = Smidgeon). My husband says I can’t get another dog until one of the other ones dies first. Then again…if he dies then I can have all the dogs I want *insert maniacal laugh and rubbing of hands together*

One thing I noticed about the llamas – no one had food. Usually they come running at the sound of food in a bucket (same for goats, FYI). All that chasing and one person with a bucket of food could have had them in 5 minutes…

This is true. My goats will do ANYTHING for their treats – and their treats smell (taste?) like licorice. Weird. lol

My parents have a morkie and absolutely love him. He’s such a sweet and funny little dog, though he is a bit hyper from time to time. My mother’s dog is all white with very little coloring, so he’s definitely easy to color, though he may not be excited about pink. ha! I too have a pug mix (puggle) and he’s about 28 pounds. My mom’s morkie is itty bitty by comparison (about eight pounds).
