Wicked Wednesday: Boning the Bodyguard
Smexy’s Top Ten
News from Mandi: The Duke and the Lady in Red by Lorraine Heath is a fantastic read. Very sensual, with a side-story that had me choked up at the end. Review coming this week.
I didn’t love Win by Submission by Melynda Prince. The suspense was too predictable and the hero’s recovery from a fractured back wasn’t realistic to me. Review coming.
Anticipation by Sarah Mayberry is so much fun. Super sexy with a strong story. The hero owns a tattoo parlor, the heroine is a tattoo artist. They are the very best of friends, who eventually turn into lovers. If you like that theme, this is a must read. Review coming this week.
Changing his Game by Megan Erickson is an erotic book featuring a hero who owns a video game magazine and a heroine who works for this magazine. He sees a tumblr porn gif on her computer at work one day, and realizes she may like a man who is in control in the bedroom – and he is that man. They start a very naughty relationship. I’ll be doing a dirty quote review on Wednesday.
I ended my week with a great hockey romance called Pucked by Helena Hunting. It’s raunchy and dirty and SO sexy and SO funny. It also has an adorable romance. Tori loved it too. It’s so much fun to read.
News From Tori: Mandi rec’d me Pucked by Helen Hunting and since I ALWAYS listen to Mandi (unless she’s saying crazy off the wall things then I just nod my head, say ok, and back away slowly). Pucked is hilarious. Seriously, I laughed the whole book. I love raunchy humor but there is a fine line that can be easily crossed and more often than not I get irritated. Luckily, I don’t get irritated in here. Pucked is a hook up that turns into something much more when a snarky young lady with a penchant for saying socially inappropriate things falls for an awkward, dirty talking, sexy hockey player. I laughed, swooned, then laughed some more at this adorable and steamy rom com.
Love and Shamrocks is the 5th book in Zara Keane’s Irish based small town romance contemporary series-Bellybeg. Love, mayhem, and lots of laughs continue to go hand in hand in the small town of Bellybeg when a disgraced cop and a reluctant thief find themselves in bed together…both literally and figuratively. A fab and quite enjoyable addition to this series. Review to come.
Shari Slade’s Ride Me Hard is the first in her Devil’s Host MC serial. A dominant alpha anti hero and a strong young lady whose fragile looks belays a huge attitude? oh HAI!! A short and nasty (in a very good way) erotic, Slade sets up the storyline perfectly, introducing our main MCs and giving you just enough of the plot to leave you demanding the next 4 installments.. Slade has said a new installment will release each month-total being 5. Review to come.
Taming The Legend by Kat Latham. Number 4 in her London Legends rugby romance contemporary series, Latham reignites an old love affair when two teenage lovers met again after years of silence and learn that outside interference played a large part in their separation. Sweet and sexy with a few added side plots to give the story added depth and humor. Review to come.
The Hurricane by R.J. Prescott was rec’d to me by a commenter on our blog. MMA fighter romances are my crack especially when the revolve around a sweet dominant marshmallow of an alpha who will do ANYTHING…give ANYTHING… to be with the woman he loves. Steamy love scenes and some cute secondary characters made this a fast sexy read. A hint of suspense adds just the right amount of bite the story needs. My only qualm was it was a little too unrealistic at times but frankly, that’s to be expected in this particular trope. Regardless, I enjoyed it and look forward to reading more by this author.
Right now I’m reading The Friend Zone by Kristen Callihan. So far enjoying immensely. CUPPPPPCAAAAKKEEEEE!! And then on to Erica Monroe’s Beauty and the Rake.

I agree…lots of good books! I am SO enjoying the first book in Reid’s Knitting series, thanks to you gals. Reid is definitely a new fav of mine. I may set it aside for the day because Roni’s book is causing my Nook to vibrate. :-)

I’ve got to second the rec for The Hurricane. Really loved the relationship between the H/h, as well as the secondary characters. This is a book that hasn’t gotten a lot of attention and deserves more.
