Our 2015 Favorites so far….

News from Mandi: Spun by Shyla Colt didn’t work for me. A motorcycle club romance, I didn’t care for the heroine and the romance didn’t work for me. Review coming

I DNF’d two books this week – Guarded by Carmen Fox – I just couldn’t get into the world. The Long Fall of Night by AJ Rose – a m/m end of the world type book, the US has lost power, and our two heroes take off to head west. I love the concept, but the book did not work for me. I DNF’d at 50% – I’ll be writing why later this week.

Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley was such a fun read. It felt like old school Kristen Ashley. The angst. The kick ass heroine. Tack. *dreamy sigh* – I’m going to talk about it on Wednesday.

Up next for me is Bad News Cowboy by Maisey Yates.

News from Tori: Is it time for the kids to go back to school yet????

If He’s Noble by Hannah Howell-The seventh installment in Hannah Howell’s Whetlocke series offers some amusements as a young couple falls in love while trying to stop a vicious relative from taking away the heroine’s fortune and life. Not bad but I missed the normal level of excitement, suspense, and action the series usually holds. Review to come.

Dark Ascension by M.L. Brennan– Brennan’s fourth installment in her darkly funny vampire series brings more laughs and horror as our baby vamp Fort finds himself trying to change the status quo, stave off his transition, while keep his psychopathic sister from taking over his mother’s territory. As always, Brennan keeps bring more to the table in order to keep this genre fresh and entertaining. Review to come.

Always A Temptress by Eileen Dreyer–Grab the kleenex because you’re in for a long snotty cry. A woman finds herself accused of treason by the very man who broke her heart years ago. Only her wit and some help from friends can save her. Abuse, betrayal, deception, and redemption all blend together to offer a heartbreaking story of second chance love under the guise of a marriage of convenience. The heroine is so strong and when the hero learns what he has done; his remorse is breathtaking.

Barely A Lady by Eileen Dreyer–I was on a Dreyer kick this week. This one too is a nose stinger as a wife is betrayed and vilified by her husband on the word of a vengeful relative. Now seven years later, she finds him on a battlefield in the enemies colors. Their long road to forgiveness and betrayal is a rocky one but worth the journey. It helps the hero grovels most effectively and the heroine doesn’t automatically forgive him.

You Really Got Me by Erika Kelly–Jane from Dear Author recommended this series on twitter and I found it a well written rock star romance with interesting industry background, sexy chemistry, and just the right amount of angst and humor to round out the story.

Lucky’s Choice by Jamie Begley–I have great love for this escapism series. Sexy alpha jerks find their true love and manage to mess things up quite a bit before they get it right. Add in a intrusive MC, steamy love scenes, plenty of humor, and a mild suspenseful plot and I’m hooked as always. I really enjoyed his one. Lucky is a jerk but he is spiritually lost. His redemption is a young lady who looks and temperament makes Lucky sure she is not the one for him. Oh, how wrong he is.
Up next is Jack Get’s His Man by DE Haggerty.

I loved both Him and Taking The Heat. These authors rarely disappoint. Ride Steady has been lounging in my Nook since release day and I am seriously ashamed I haven’t read it yet. Don’t tell Sheena but I didn’t love the Jamie Begley I tried awhile ago. Maybe I should revisit that series. I’m reading Falling Under by Lauren Dane this weekend.
