September Releases Mandi Wants to Read
Smexy’s Top Ten
News from Mandi: This week I DNF’d Surrender to the Chase by Amanda Greene and Faerie Fate by Margaret Madigan. Both just didn’t work for me/keep my interest.
Fast Fresh and Hot by Eliza Madison – Cute novella about a girl who falls in love with her pizza delivery guy. I wish it had been a little longer to explore the hero more, but a sexy, quick read. Review coming
Begging for it by Lilah Pace – Book two in Jonah and Vivenne’s romance – very dark, intense, and a satisfying HEA. If interested, make sure you read book one first. Review to come.
Before We Were Strangers by Renee Carlino – I talked about it on top ten yesterday. Very well done second chance love story. Made me a bit weepy. Highly rec.
Dirty Talk by Megan Erickson – Really enjoyed – book two in her mechanic series and it was sexy with a very cocky yet cute hero. I loved him. Review coming.
Badger by CM Mckenna (aka Cara McKenna) I JUST finished this – so it’s still raw. This is a VERY Dark, erotic, no-hea book. So I guess I shouldn’t call it a romance, although it does deal with a relationship and the idea of falling in love. I loved it. But it’s – intense. And hard to read at some points. The heroine is a newly recovering pill addict – artist – trying to get back on track girl. The hero is a guy who had a horrible, horrible past. He is a street vigilante in Boston – some love him, some hate him. He doesn’t do emotions. He is called, Badger. Oh Badger. Broke my heart. I’m going to review it next week.
Edit **Mandi’s prayers worked! The internet God’s have smiled upon me and all seems to be fixed. **
News From Tori: Nalini Singh’s Rock Redemption is outstanding. A deviation from her other two, Singh builds a lush and emotionally heartbreaking second chance romance that scours the heart and inflames the senses.
Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon is an erotic alien sci fi romance that is fun, smart, and super sexy. A well written story with developed characters, viable plotlines, and some steamy hawt action. The hero is a sweetie and I loved the heroine with her snark and ability to adapt to any situation.
Barbarian Alien by Ruby Dixon. Book two in Dixon’s Alien series continues the fun and sexy times though this one took a little longer to get in sync. The heroine annoyed me till around the last quarter.
Before We Were Strangers by Renee Carlino–An engaging bittersweet second chance romance that blends the past and the present perfectly as Carlino shares a couple’s journey of love, loss, and forgiveness.
Cinder’s Rising by Jenika Snow is a short erotic novella that wasn’t bad but the length forbid any real character or romance development. It was all very one dimensional and never divulged past the surface.
This weekend I’m reading Zara Keene’s Her Treasure Hunter Ex and Owl and the City of Angels by Kristi Charish.

I agree, Mandi… I bought Badger few days ago and I’m still reading it. Very dark and emotionally-draining book, but I am loving it so far.
Looking forward to your review!
Mandi says
Ooooh – let me know when you finish!
Sulu says
I, too, read Badger. It’s been haunting me ever since I finished. Heartbreaking.
Mandi says
It was heartbreaking – but I also felt – peace for Adrian at the end. I didn’t expect to feel that.
Sulu says
I agree. It ended with growth and hope. It’s one of those books that has stayed with me long after I was done with it.
Michelle says
Ice Planet Barbarians is only $ 0.99 at Amazon
Sheena says
wait, no HEA? How does that work? Is Badger going to make me a wreck, I don’t do well with non or ambiguous HEA’s. *shudders*
