News from Mandi: Ended up loving Shadow Fall by Lauren Griffin. Great FBI heroine, very creepy suspense, intense hero. Reviewing this week.
Star Dust by Emma Barry and Genevieve Turner is adorable. Set in the early 1960’s, our hero is an astronaut looking to get into outer space and our heroine is recently divorced (scandalous!) and becomes his next door neighbor. It’s sexy and fun. Review to come.
Woo Me by Karina Bliss, Win Me by Joan Kilby, Wait for Me by Sarah Mayberry are connected, but can be read as stand alones. They feature three best girlfriends who all meet at the Outback Bachelor and Spinster Ball – and who all find love. Each is about 150 pages. I enjoyed them all, but Sarah Mayberry’s the best. Review to come.
One Autumn Night by Isla Dawn is a novella that starts strong. The heroine has a ton of spunk and spirit as she goes up against her former lover. I thought the second half was a little weak. Review to come.
News From Tori:
Dragos Goes To Washington by Thea Harrison–A cute action packed novella that gives us a peek back into Pia and Drago’s life and the major changes that are coming to the Elder Races. There are two more novellas coming; one for Pia and one for Liam. Review to come.
The Reason Is You by Sharla Lovelace– is a sexy, funny, and heart wrenching romance contemporary with a supernatural bent that brings love back into the life of a woman who has been disappointed by it for most of her life.
Revealed To Him by Jen Frederick-Book three in the Kerr Chronicles, this romance suspense pairs Jake (Ian Kerr’s friend and Tiny’s boss) with an agoraphobic when he’s hired to find out who is terrorizing her. Hot steamy loving and a somewhat predictable mystery made this a fast read. Review to come.
Dark Heart of Magic by Jennifer Estep-The second book in Estep’s Black Blade series offers more world building and back story as our heroine, Lila Mayweather, finds out that second place could mean death when invited to participate in an annual competition. Estep smooths out some rough spots in here as Lila and the storyline seem to be coming into their own. Review to come.
This weekend I will be reading Autumn Thorns by Yasmine Galenorn.
