He’s not who she expected, but he’s exactly the man she needs…

When Chelsea Wayne drags Santa into a supply closet for a little office party nookie, she assumes the man in the suit is her on-again/off-again coworker boyfriend. Instead, it’s Rafe St. Sebastian, a man known for his hard-driving ways in business as well as the bedroom–and, kill her now, the brand spanking new owner of Las Ventanas–who grants her naughtiest Christmas wishes.

So much for her reputation, not to mention her career.

Rafe needs to close three acquisitions to prove to his father he’s ready to take the helm of St. Sebastian Enterprises. A hot interlude in a supply closet after deal number two seems like the perfect illicit Christmas bonus. Unfortunately, when that “bonus” becomes the key to the final deal, he finds himself back in bed–so to speak–with Chelsea, and after their steamy tryst, he’s not interested in keeping things professional…

I’ve enjoyed Samanthe Beck in the past but this one didn’t work so well for me. It’s your typical boss/employee story that didn’t fully engage me. Chelsea works for a large resort in southern California and is in a boring relationship. She hears that her boyfriend is going to dress up as Santa for the holiday party, and then ends up in a closet with him (dressed as santa) prior to him making his big appearance. She can’t believe how feisty and sexual he is being, and has the best sex of her life.

Except the person in the Santa suit isn’t her boyfriend. It’s billionaire Rafe St. Sebastian who has just bought her resort. So he is in essence her boss now. During the sex, he knows who she is, but she doesn’t realize it’s Rafe. I can fully understand this may bother some people. Especially when she calls Rafe by her boyfriend’s name – so he knows she doesn’t know who she is sleeping with.

Can we also take a second to say – if I had a boyfriend and I had sex with someone in a santa suit – I’m pretty confident I’d know if it wasn’t him in that suit. Right? His lips, his hands, his overall build?

Anyway, some may find the ick factor high with this first encounter. It didn’t bother me too much because she realizes who she actually slept with just moments later.  We then proceed with your typical super rich, a little colder, will NEVER take no for an answer boss. And we have your super dedicated, hard-working employee who just wants to do a good job. And no matter how hard she tries, she always finds herself naked with her boss.

Don’t get me wrong – Rafe is sexy. He says naughty things to her. He is amazing in bed. He knows what he wants and he goes and gets it. And Chelsea is strong heroine who has good friends and just wants to feel proud in the work she does. But there were no surprises. It felt like a cookie cutter rich boss hero, female employee story.
