Smexy’s Top Ten
Mandi News: Land of the Beautiful Dead by R. Lee Smith pretty much took over my entire week. For one it’s 700+ pages long and I didn’t want to miss a word! I love this author. She pushes boundaries. She makes you think. She makes you squirm. If you’ve read her in the past, this book is less violent than the others (but still quite violent). I fell in love with this author when she wrote Last Hour of Gann. This one is a close second. She isn’t for everyone, but if you want to read something totally different, give her a try. Land of the Beautiful Dead is on Kindle Unlimited.
I also read Last True Hero by Diana Gardin – I didn’t love the heroine. She is supposed to marry her best friend to please her parents, but falls for the hero instead. I wish the best friend part had not been in there. Review coming.
I’m currently reading Blood Kiss by JR Ward. I’ve only read the first chapter – but we’ve already seen Vishous, Butch, Marissa, and the heroine. Fingers crossed so hard this is old school Ward. I’ll report back!
News From Tori:
Stop At Nothing by Kate SeRine–The first in her new Protect & Serve series brings us a second chance romance embedded in a suspense mystery. Enjoyable though I found the romance overshadowed the mystery and at times I was bored by the lack of action. Review to come.
Overwhelmed By You by Nashoda Rose–The second book in Rose’s Tear Asunder series is definitely overwhelming in terms of storyline, character dynamics, and dramatics.
Shattered By You by Nashoda Rose–The third book in Rose’s Tear Asunder series is the best in my opinion. Realistic characters and situations made this a fast, sexy, and at times humorous read.
Stygian by Santino Hassell–Creepy gothic at its best with plenty of atmospheric and emotional entanglements. Hassell does a wonderful job of reminding us that sometimes the scariest things aren’t what we can’t see…but what we can.
The Billionaire Takes A Bride by Jessica Clare– I heard so many people exclaiming delight over this new release that I jumped on the bandwagon and am I glad I did. A sweet, sexy, funny, and emotionally heart pinching marriage of convenience romance about a roller derby soap making queen and the beta billionaire with a heart of gold she falls for.
Pucked Up by Helen Hunting–I adored book one-Pucked-but this one not so much. Mainly because of the heroine. I found her too immature and annoying. She played the victim all the time, running to her friends or brother when things got bad, and expected Miller to chase after her when she got her feelings hurt.
This weekend I’m reading Clay & Susan Griffith’s The Geomancer & whatever else catches my fancy.

Hi,
I really enjoyed the Game Plan. I loved the hero. Can you recommend books with the same theme? I love the idea of a guy waiting for the girl.
Thank you
Sandra
