Smexy’s Top Ten
News from Mandi: Marrying Winterborne by Lisa Kleypas is a fun read. I liked it more than the first book. The hero is romantic and loud and big and made me smile. The heroine starts a little shy but she really comes into herself. I’ll be reviewing this week.
Speaking of historical romances, Duke of Sin by Elizabeth Hoyt is SO GOOD. Val truly is a villain and I loved every minute spent with him. Bridget, the housekeeper hero is the perfect match for him. Loved, loved, loved. Review coming this week.
I just started Beyond Ecstasy by Kit Rocha – look for a joint review with Tori this week.
News from Tori: The Wicked Duke by Madeline Hunter wraps up her Wicked trilogy with an interesting couple whose unconventional marriage provides a pathway to love and the solving of a mystery that has plagued the series. Review to come.
Jana Deleon’s Miss Fortune series is a laugh out loud cozy mystery series revolving around a smart, snarky, and skilled CIA agent whose life has been upended when she is forced to hide out in a small southern town overflowing with odd residents, a sexy alpha deputy, and a sudden murder problem. So far I’m up to book four and have loved every minute of it.
Torn by Cynthia Eden is the fourth installment in her LOST series. A sexy, dark, action packed thriller that pits a pair of seasoned investigators against an intelligent serial killer with a secret agenda. The strong romance blends well with the creepy mystery. Review to come.
Dirty Sexy Inked by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde is the second in the Dirty Sexy series and gives readers a hot and heavy friends to lovers erotic romance that addresses some serious subject matter. Readers to come.
The Darkest Torment by Gena Showalter is one I’ve been waiting on what seems to be forever. The 12th in the series, this is Baden’s book-a character we have heard much about but never really interacted with. Exploding with dark action and intrigue, Showalter tempers this with her trademark humor, angst, romance, and of course, the rest of the LOTU gang. Well worth the wait. Review to come.
Troublemaker by Linda Howard is a easy romance suspense that is heavy on the romance and very very light on the suspense.
Steele: House of Payne by Stacy Gail is probably her most emotional book. %th book in the series. Two survivors of brutality find each other and work against emotional, mental, and physical odds to find their happily ever after. Erotic love scenes, some fantastic dirty talk, and plenty of humor helps to balance the inherent darkness of the storyline. My favorite in the series to date.
Rookie Move by Sabina Bowen. A spin off of Ivy College series, this is the 1st in the Brooklyn Bruisers series. Bowen reintroduces Leo Trevi (DJ’s brother) and gives us the full story behind Leo and his ex-girlfriend, Georgia. This sexy, funny, and poignant second chance romance doesn’t take the easy out, making both characters work hard to fix their past in order to have a future. Review to come.
I have no idea what I’m reading this weekend. Lol
