News From Mandi:
I’m in a bit of a reading slump. Defending Hayden by LP Dover didn’t work for me. The hero is an NFL linebacker but he came off really young. The heroine came off too perfect. And there was a big ending drama that didn’t fit.
Body Rocks by AM Arthur is a m/m with two competing indie rock star heroes. It was okay, but no sexual tension and lots of angst but it didn’t pull me in.
How Secrets Die by Marta Perry is a small town murder mystery – the heroine rubbed me the wrong way, but the mystery part worked for me pretty well. Very low key romance though.
Off on vacation tomorrow so I’ve been saving Allegiance of Honor by Nalini Singh and Bittersweet by Sarina Bowen.
News From Tori: Summer vacation is kicking my butt and it’s not even halfway over yet.
Enough by Jade Chandler–An erotic romance set in the motorcycle world. Fairly entertaining though unbalanced with it’s drawn out drama, secretive nature, and never ending sex. The heroine is the strongest most fleshed out character while the hero and auxiliary characters are there mainly to prop her and the storyline up. The ending disappointed me. Review to come.
His To Protect by Stacy Lynn–A sensual romance suspense though the suspense is extremely weak. The broody hero and fragile heroine work well together. A slow burning romance and a wonderful set up for future storylines. Review to come.
Bounce Back by K.M. Jackson–The sequel to Bounce is a humorous and sexy second chance romance that concentrates on a couple’s reconciliation after the heroine catches her husband cheating and her attempts to find her place in their new world. A secondary storyline blends well with the main one though some of the over the top drama had me rolling my eyes. Review to come.
Forevermore by Kristen Callihan The final installment in Callihan’s Darkest London series will leave readers content as Callihan answers all our questions and ties all the loose ends together as her last couple attempts to navigate their feelings for one another while surrendering to their destinies. Review to come.
This weekend I have Molly Harper’s Where the Wild Things Bites, a Half Moon Hollow novel.
