News from Mandi: I finished listening to The Body Reader by Anne Frasier. A really well done suspense book (romance is verrrrrry light) The heroine was a homicide dectective who was kidnapped and abused/tortured in a basement for three years. She escapes when the book starts – and eventually heads back to the homicide department investigating a dead girl. The end was a little far-fetched but overall really enjoyed this author’s voice.
My next listen (which I’m about two hours into) is Before the Fall by Noah Hawley. It’s about a small plane crash and the two survivors – but also goes into the past to tell the stories of the other passengers – maybe the crash wasn’t random?? I don’t know!! But the storytelling is great and the narrator is amazing.
I’m halfway through One Minute to Midnight by Nico Rosso – a suspense with an awesome hero and heroine duo. They have amazing chemistry and sexual tension. They are investigating gunrunners in a worn-down town undercover. Review to come next week.
