News from Tori: By Her Touch by Adriana Anders is book two in her Blank Canvas series and in my opinion better written than book one. Just as emotionally erotic, I really felt Anders goes above and beyond with her in-depth characterization of both hero and heroine, the joint background reveals, and the verbalization of their pain, and their individual issues with intimacy. The hint of mystery and suspense only adds to the appeal. I felt Anders developed this plotline much better in here than in book one.

Red Sleeves by Paullina Simons was a DNF. I couldn’t get past the 50% mark with the unlikable characters, choppy narrative, and slow moving storyline. If you are expecting something similar in writing or appeal as her later series-The Bronze Horseman-you’ll be disappointed.

Buns by Alice Clayton is the 3rd book in Clayton’s Hudson Valley series and offers readers the same heart, heat, and humor when an go-getting modernist butts heads with a dye in the wool traditionalist. Review closer to release date.

Elizabeth Brown’s The Mistakes is the 3rd book in her Off Limits series. This lightweight romantic comedy offers readers laughter and smexytimes when a young woman finds the guy of her dreams AFTER she agrees to two months of abstinence following an STD scare. Fast, fun, and sexy, my only bone of contention was that the dialogue and actions were crude at times. Review to come. Currently on sale for $.99-AMZ.

This weekend I’m reading A Charmed Little Lie by Sharla Lovelace.

News From Kini: It Happened on Love Street by Lia Riley– I finished this up last weekend. It was a solid read. I would recommend it to anyone who loves small town romance.

Twist by Kylie Scott– The soon to be released follow-up to Dirty. The MC’s met from online dating but he lied about his true identity. He spent the book making it up. Text from me to Tori about Joe, the hero, “Can’t believe Joe did that.. And by can’t believe it I mean, oh man he’s f*cked up. I think I love him.” You know I love me some messed up heroes, Joe is definitely that.

Star Crossed by Emma Barry and Genevieve Turner– I was about 50% through this book when they announced they were delisting it. I enjoyed it but will not post a review on it.

I am finally, for real this time, finishing this books by Maggie Wells. The MC’s are both over 50. And they had some sex that was bad/awkward/unfulfilling and I loved it.
