This week was filled with heavily emotional reads for me. I got the ARC of Best of Luck by Kate Clayborn (Nov 27) and although I rarely read ARCs that far in advance, I had to make an exception for this one. It was wonderful and beautiful. I’ll probably be insufferable from now to release date. I will have a full review in November.
I also read All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover. This was my first CoHo read and I was really into the book for about 90%. It’s a marriage in trouble trope centered on the couple’s inability to get pregnant. If infertility is a trigger for you, this is not your book. But overall the story was well done and it wasn’t infertility that was truly the problem, but rather their inability to communicate. I would have liked to have seen more exploration of the ways in which we as women can be “mothers” and “maternal” without having birthed a child. I know that my personal experience surrounding motherhood has mostly gone the way I wanted, so maybe I have a skewed vision. Anyway, when I finished the book it gave me lots of thoughts and not all of them were positive. And that is okay.
I received a Mills & Boon Bookclub box. The box included 5 books, 7 stories, a notebook, makeup/pen bag and a bag. Most of the stories were part of the Dare line. You can see me unbox it on my Instastories.
They also included promo code SMEXY30 to receive 30% off purchases at millsandboon.co.uk
For the record, unboxing and recording is kind of hard work. You have to do it all one-handed And if you flub a line or don’t like what you said, you have to start over. I applaud all the folks out there doing unboxings and making them look flawless.
I’ll be back next week with more kisses.
