Billionaire/millionaire characters isn’t typically a trope that I enjoy. But I was interested to see how this new to me author might put a different spin on it. The blurb mentions an arranged marriage and I mistakenly thought that meant between the heroine, Mina, and the hero, Hem but it was about something else. Regardless, I really enjoyed this story. It is strong with the family connection, I love family sagas when they are done well and planting the seeds in interest in the secondary characters. Sharma hit the right notes on that for me. She also incorporated a lot of food in to this book and I loved it.
But really, we are here for the main love story, right? Mina and Hem were a lovely couple. They had a lot of good tension that paid off with some steamy on page sex. Hem was a little more alphay than I typically like these days. But it was in line with his overachieving self. Mina was kind of prickly and great.
A few other drawbacks in the story was that there were a few times that the characters were doing things off page, like spending the day together and I would have liked to have seen that on the page. There was a bit of intrigue woven in to the story and I was mostly okay with it, but I felt like the story ended kind of abruptly. It was a plot device in order to ensure that the reader will continue on with the series. That is not my favorite thing to happen. Overall I did enjoy the story and was heavily invested in not only Mina and Hem, but their families as well.
