From Kini:
What’s Happening in Romancelandia?
I went on a road trip last week to visit my family in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Midwest is so nice, you can buy beer at the grocery store. The folks are generally really nice. Case in point the gal at the Scooter’s Coffee that didn’t even mind ringing us up in 4 different transactions so we could use 4 different coupons! It was good to see family, but I missed Kitty Scarlett a lot! I’m still recovering from driving all night with no sleep and not drinking enough water though :) All that to say, I don’t really know what’s been going on in Romancelandia. Take a few days off of social media and it feels like it takes weeks to catch up.
What I am reading now/next:
Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes- I actually finished this late Thursday evening. I liked it a lot. Review next week. FYI it’s Evvie like Chevy for anyone interested.
Waiting For Tom Hanks– Umm, I started this and put it on pause. I’ll let Angela tell you why.
Superfan by Sarina Bowen– The ARC fairies sent this to my Kindle recently and I think I am going to read it next. It is part of the Brooklyn Bruisers series.
Annnnd while Angela gathers her thoughts- and she has THOUGHTS…From Sheena:
My hubby has been away on a business trip for the past two weeks and mother has been…LIVING sleeping. No kidding! I just knew I’d be reveling in having the bed to myself and the option to read all night uninterrupted- but nope! Passed out night after night only a few chapters into my reading. It is a wonder I got through both novels! Hubby returns tonight and I know, I just know that I’m going to lament squandering my alone time!
I’m also blonde for the first time in.my.life and I might love it.
The Sheikh’s Pregnant Love by Leslie North– So, I’m into Leslie North. Like into her. Like, I read all her super sexy you-name-it-she-writes-it trope. Especially her Sheikh love adventures. The latest for me that I reveled in from beginning to end is, The Sheikh’s Pregnant Love. Now while I love all things preggo trope- I don’t usually like when the heroine is pregnant and dating. Call me….I don’t know, call me whatever, but it’s not usually my go-to read. Leslie wrote this story in a way where there is no choice but to root for the MCs. Needless to say, I can’t wait for the next installment!
Devi’s Distraction by Ruby Dixon– I’ve been reading this one bit by bit. Hero is damaged, grumpy and all shades of jaded- but he’s got a woman in his sights and maybe, just maybe he doesn’t have to give up on life and waste away being carried around after-all! The character development is strong and my only qualm was how graphic it was at times- and I’m not talking the sex. Heroine, Devi, is a scientist and has a fascination and preoccupation with dissecting things *shudders*
From Angela…
I’ve been so busy at work these last couple of weeks. Every one either needs end of school/graduation hair, vacation hair, or cool color pink/purple/mermaid hair and I’m tired. Lol.
What I’m reading and what’s up next:
I had to DNF Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey. Too many rom-com references, the name Tom Hanks is mentioned 76 times (yes, I searched to find out), and at 40% in the heroine still hadn’t given the hero anything but attitude when he hadn’t really done anything to deserve her ire. I’ll post a full review next week.
I’m currently reading Stacey Lynn’s 28 Dates and enjoying. I’m also going to try and fit in Tessa Bailey’s Fix Her Up. I’ll have reviews for both on Tuesday.
Happy Weekend!

Wow. Shame about waiting for Tom Hanks. I love romcoms and this book sounds like what every romance lover has been waiting for!
