Angela– I have tons of great ARCs for this month and I want to dig in to all of them right now.
The Right Swipe by Alisha Rai 8/6- Alisha Rai is one of my go-to, must-have, auto-buy authors and I love her. This story about two rival dating app creators sounds amazing and I can’t wait to read it this week.
The Wallflower Wager by Tessa Dare 8/13– If this book is half as cute as the previous book in this series, The Governess Game, I know I’ll be in heaven.
The First Girl Child by Amy Harmon 8/20– This author is one of my favorite fantasy romance authors and as soon as I read the blurb I knew I had to have this book.
The Duchess in His Bed by Lorraine Heath 8/20– This is the fourth book in the Sins for all Seasons series and I am very much looking forward to seeing Aiden Trewlove get his HEA.
Risa Against by Hailey Edwards 8/22– I’m anticipating this book so much I messaged the author to find out when ARCs would be available. LOL. I mean come on isn’t everyone excited to see if Luce can save humanity and if she and Cole can finally get it together romantically?
The Blacksmith Queen by GA Aiken 8/27– Doesn’t this sound amazing?
When a prophesy brings war to the Land of the Black Hills, Keeley Smythe must join forces with a clan of mountain warriors who are really centaurs in a thrilling new fantasy romance series from New York Times bestselling author G.A. Aiken.
How to Love a Duke in 10 Days by Kerrigan Byrne 8/27– This is the first book in a new series by this author and I’m already seeing rave reviews.
Sapphire Flames by Ilona Andrews 8/27– I’ve actually already read this one, but I wanted to remind everyone it was releasing this month. It’s good y’all. Really, really good. You are going to LOVE Catalina. And Alessandro is delicious.
Kini: It’s that time again where I look back on the previous month’s TBR and get embarrassed about talking about adding to my TBR. Instead of pretending like I have any chance of actually reading all these books in August, I am going to tell you about books releasing this month that I am very excited about and hope to read before 2019 ends.
The Right Swipe by Alisha Rai 8/6– I am here for any book that has an element of online dating to it.
Playing House by Ruby Lang 8/12– Fake relationship is one of my favorite tropes. And the cover is super cute. We will have a sexcerpt to share for this soon.
Unbreak Me by Michelle Hazen 8/13– The blurb references heavy (Hurricane Katrina & discrimination) topics and I am curious to see how Hazen brings it all together. And the cover got my attention too :)
Sidelined by Suzanne Baltsar 8/27– Young woman football coach, one click!
The Mysterious Stranger by Ainslie Paton 8/27– I cheated and already read this. This is the third in her Confidence Games series. The main characters infiltrate a doomsday cult and discover their love. This book will be on my favorites of 2019.
What books are you adding to your TBR this month?

August TBR (these are new releases—I also have some older books on my list, but not here):
CLAIMING HIS ONE-NIGHT CHILD by Jackie Ashenden. Obviously a secret baby HP.
A KISS TO KEEP by Willow Winters. A dark romance, sequel to an earlier book (A KISS TO TELL) which seemed to give the couple an HEA—but apparently there’s more angst and drama ahead.
HARD TO LOVE also by Willow Winters. Another dark romance with a different couple but set in the same world as A KISS TO KEEP.
ONE LAST CHANCE by Molly O’Keefe. Set in the same world as the King Family books, but a new couple. I read this yesterday and it was beautiful! Angsty, emotional, melancholy. All my catnip’s.
SONATA by Skye Warren. The third and final book in her series about a violin prodigy who falls in love with her guardian The first book (OVERTURE) was extremely transgressive because the heroine was still underage. The subsequent book (with the heroine now 18) was more of a romantic suspense. I expect more of the same here.
BLACK SHEEP BOUNTY HUNTER by Jackie Ashenden. The sixth and final book in her Texas Bounty series. I’ve been waiting for (and shipping) this couple’s story since 2017. Enemies-to-lovers and unresolved sexual tension FTW.
FILTHY RICH by Julie Kriss. Possibly the start of a new series by a very underrated writer. This appears to be a twist on the Billionaire/CEO trope.

I’ve been eyeing the Jackie Ashenden series for a couple of weeks. I know the last book comes out next week because I just added it to the new release post. You recommend? Is it more romantic suspense or contemporary? I kind of miss reading a good romantic suspense series.

Disco Dolly Deb, I NEED this new O’keefe book. I loved her other stories in this series.

@Angela: I’m a huge Jackie Ashenden fan, she’s basically an auto buy for me, but I wouldn’t describe the Texas Bounty series as romantic suspense, although there are bad guys and some peril for the hero & heroine before the HEA, they’re very much contemporary romances as opposed to romantic suspense, imho. (If you haven’t read any Ashenden before, I recommend the Lies We Tell duet, HAVING HER and TAKING HIM. The sibling’s-friend/friend’s-sibling trope done perfectly.)
@Kini: I loved ONE LAST CHANCE—beautifully-written, bittersweet, highly-recommended. I actually cried during the scene where the h&h finally get together (they’ve been married ten years, but have been separated most of that time). I checked it out from KU, but it’s only 99-cents in the kindle store right now, so I may buy it to put in my re-read/keeper file.

@discodollydeb,
I one-clicked the Molly O’keefe and started it on my lunch break. HUGE mistake. I didn’t even know it was a marriage in trouble (favorite trope). I didn’t want to go back to work. O’keefe is as close as I get to an auto-buy author for me.
