Adriana is back with another beautiful dream cast for her latest novel, American Love Story, which released earlier this week. Thanks for stopping by Adriana!!
Patrice and Easton’s romance is almost here and have I got a casting for you! For this third installment of the Dreamers series we’re back in Ithaca and my favorite broody Haitian is in deep with a certain Whiskey eyed ADA.
Since I’ve already picked some of the main players for the series, you will see some familiar faces, but this time I’ve also picked my dream casting for Yin and Ari who we met in American Dreamer and are back in Love Story…I also have one of the let’s say…least favorite of the characters in the story, but who for some reason keeps popping up in my musings. Without further ado here is my Dream Cast for the film version of American Love Story.
The HEROES. For Patrice, there is really only one option for me: Winston Duke. He can give me that gigantic broody man vibe I need for our professor.
For Easton I also have one and only ONE choice, Matt Bomer. Matt has the looks, but also the range to pull off a character with the inner strength and determination of our favorite small time prosecutor.
The rest of the Crew! For Ari I had to find a star that had the intensity of Ari, but that could also pull off a joke. Yin and Ari are sort of the second romance of Love Story and I wanted actors who could really give that swoony feel those two have. So our Ari is John Boyega (SWOOOOON).
Yin is James Cretan who is adorable and super hot. Those two together give me literally all the feeeeelz.
Next I have my #1 choice Odette, Patrice’s badass of a mother. In this series, I strived to write women who were strong, loving and amazing in their own right. I wanted to really show the value and worth that single mothers have. How much they do for their children and for themselves. The only person who I could think that could encompass all that, is one of my all time favorites…Bona Fide GODDESS, Viola Davis.
Next I have our very frustrating and somewhat problematic Sherriff Day. His character was one of the hardest I’ve had to write to date. There is something incredibly frustrating in someone who has all the reasons to be a hero, and fall short every time. My pick for day is hot though, so at least that’s something. Chris Hemsworth, NATURALLY.
Last but NOT AT ALL LEAST I have my first heroine, and the best friend that will kick your ass and then go fight your archenemy for you…Priscilla. I stuck with Tessa Thompson for Pris’s character, because I love her.
That’s my DREAM CAST, for American Love Story I hope that helps as you read…I know that Netflix will be knocking on my door any day now!
American Love Story by Adriana Herrera
Description: No one should have to choose between love and justice.
Haitian-born professor and activist Patrice Denis is not here for anything that will veer him off the path he’s worked so hard for. One particularly dangerous distraction: Easton Archer, the assistant district attorney who last summer gave Patrice some of the most intense nights of his life, and still makes him all but forget they’re from two completely different worlds.
All-around golden boy Easton forged his own path to success, choosing public service over the comforts of his family’s wealth. With local law enforcement unfairly targeting young men of color, and his career—and conscience—on the line, now is hardly the time to be thirsting after Patrice again. Even if their nights together have turned into so much more.
For the first time, Patrice is tempted to open up and embrace the happiness he’s always denied himself. But as tensions between the community and the sheriff’s office grow by the day, Easton’s personal and professional lives collide. And when the issue at hand hits closer to home than either could imagine, they’ll have to work to forge a path forward…together.
