Smexy’s November TBR

November 4, 2019 by Angela 2 Comments

Angela– November is when I try to begin to close out my reading year, wrap up any ARC reviews I missed in the last few months AND finally get to all those books in my TBR stack that I’ve been eyeing all year. This month has quite a few great releases that I’m looking forward to and I’m also planning to sneak in some books that I’ve had on my Kindle for awhile.

Slaying Monsters for the Feeble (The Guild Codex: Demonized Book 2) by Annette Marie 11/1– I’ve enjoyed this author since stumbling across her on a KU book search. This is a spin-off series to The Guild Codex: Spellbound, but I think I might like it even more. Also available in KU.

Graveyard Shift (Not Dead Yet #3) by Jenn Burke 11/4– If you aren’t reading this series and you enjoy M/M PNR, you really should be. Wes and Hudson are awesome and I love the cast of characters that surround them too.

Beard Necessities (Winston Brothers Book 7) by Penny Reid 11/4– This is the book Winston Brothers fans have been waiting for. I’ve been holding on to my copy of Beard with Me in anticipation of reading them together. I’m more than ready. Bring on Billy and Claire!

The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams 11/5– I’ve heard a lot of positive buzz for this book and the blurb is awesome:

The first rule of book club:
You don’t talk about book club.

Nashville Legends second baseman Gavin Scott’s marriage is in major league trouble. He’s recently discovered a humiliating secret: his wife Thea has always faked the Big O. When he loses his cool at the revelation, it’s the final straw on their already strained relationship. Thea asks for a divorce, and Gavin realizes he’s let his pride and fear get the better of him.

Welcome to the Bromance Book Club.

Distraught and desperate, Gavin finds help from an unlikely source: a secret romance book club made up of Nashville’s top alpha men. With the help of their current read, a steamy Regency titled Courting the Countess, the guys coach Gavin on saving his marriage. But it’ll take a lot more than flowery words and grand gestures for this hapless Romeo to find his inner hero and win back the trust of his wife.

Unnatural Magic by CM Waggoner 11/5– I’ve read A LOT of fantasy this year. The cover grabbed me, the blurb sounded intriguing and I can’t wait to delve into this debut novel of magic and murder and wizards and trolls.

Not the Girl You Marry by Andie J Christopher 11/12– I enjoy the fake relationship that turns into lurve trope and this reworking of How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days sounds really good.

My Fake Rake by Eva Leigh 11/26– I follow Eva Leigh on twitter and her tweets about this upcoming release are the reason I requested for review. I mean who can resist “hot nerd-on-nerd love”? Not this girl.

When Falcons Fall (Sebastian St. Cyr #11) by CS Harris OUT NOW– I’m still chugging away on this historical mystery series. I hope to finish it by the end of the year.

The Vine Witch by Luanne G. Smith OUT NOW– I chose this book when it was offered as a Kindle First Reads. I’ve heard such good things about this debut fantasy.

Sheena- For me, November is when I delve fully into the holiday season and practically devour all the wistfully romantic and smoking sexy material that romance has to offer. It is also right around the time that I face the fact that my TBR pile will forever tower over me and all my good intentions. Nevertheless, here I am. In November. Talking about what is TBR… :-)

Where Winter Finds You (BDB #17.5) by JR Ward 11.24– I’m rage reading this and IDC! I hated and couldn’t believe Ward “killed” off Selena. Even though my investment in Trez & Selena as a couple was and is severely low, you don’t kill off a heroine in a series I’ve been reading for 17 novels in. And then, you don’t “bring her back” 2.5 books later. You just don’t. Ok.

The Rebel King (All the King’s Men #2) by Kennedy Ryan ( 11/17)– The heroine: Raised to resist. Bred to fight. Survival is in my blood and surrender is never an option. The hero: Raised to rule, bred to lead and weaned on a diet of ruthless ambition. And their worlds collide. Quite literally. Book 2 in this Duet follows the absolutely arresting The KingMaker and is where Lennix and Maxim finally get their HEA! Their romance spans many years and I have goosebumps just thinking of the romance level 1000101019 payoff we are due to experience!

The Nice List by Avery Scott (Out now)– An Enemies to Lovers holiday novella! Real estate big shot wannabe vs small town teacher in a battle for a local school and their hearts! But first- they fight!

Gavin’s Song A Last Riders Trilogy, #1 by Jamie Begley (out now)– I LOVE The Last Rider series and I’ve been on pins and needles waiting for Gavin’s story! And though it finally released in October, I’ve put off reading this because it is the first of a trilogy and I hate-hate-hate-hate cliffhangers. Begley anticipates 2-3 months between books 2 and 3…so I’m thinking I will read Gavin’s Song at the tail end of November and hope Begley sticks to the plan and maybe book 2 will be out in December.

Ruby Dixon has a November Icehome novel coming. Reading it.

If I Never Met You by Mhairi McFarlane (March 2020 ARC)– I know, March?? But the blurb is irresistible and feels fun! (see why my TBR pile is a burgeoning beast? I’m all over the place!) Romance of convenience, turns into more!

Kini: As I started to put my list together, I realized I don’t have a ton of ARCs for November and that is probably a really good thing. Of the 5 books I had on my list for October, I read two. I read a bunch of other books and a couple from my TBR’s so that is a good thing :)

I don’t want to rehash Angela’s list but I also have The Bromance Book Club and Not the Girl You Marry as anticipated reads this month. I’ve read Bromance but it was an early ARC and I want to read the finished copy to see how it may have changed. By the time this posts, I should have Beard Necessities on my Kindle and I will have already started reading it.

Outmatched by Kristen Callihan and Samantha Young– 11/19- I adore Callihan’s contemporary books. It’s a fake relationship between a boxer and a geeky society girl, per the blurb. So this is a one click for me.

I really want to challenge myself to read at least a few ARCs/books from my massive TBR. Who knows how that will actually go though :)
